Yeap, especially with extra 3-4 MPH on his fastball this year.

Yep, big difference between 93-96 VS his 88-92 MPH last year.

Geez, and now Hatch Ks the side.
What a trade that could end up being.

I am on delay now, just watched Borucki...
That slider is deadly - but he calls it a cutter? So, the slutter?
And yes, that extra couple MPHs on the heater makes all the difference.

My hatred for umpires and their strike zones continues to grow.

Yep. Those first 2 called strikes against Vladdy were garbage.

Ugh.
Walked off again.
4 hits given up by the staff and they lose. Three of them homers though I guess.

Getting some really good pitching, that's a positive, and have lost a crap ton of really close games. I sure wish they could hit.

Marcus Stroman opted out of the season today. So the Mets gave the Jays Kay, who looks awesome right now, and a top 100 prospect for a few months of Stroman.
worked out great for the Jays. Maybe some good karma after the Donaldson fiasco.

Yeah, personally I hated the deal from the start, but it definitely looks like it's working out. I still won't give them full credit for the deal as they should've received more at the time, but I this was a clearcut win if it's taken at this point in time.

I think it's the universe correcting itself after the Jays gave the Mets Noah Syndegaard and Travis D'Arnaud for R.A. Dickey. I thought it was a horrible deal at the time, and it definitely hasn't aged well.

This trade was a complete no-brainer. Travis d’Arnaud was one of the best prospects in baseball. Noah Syndergaard was a prospect who barely cracked top 100 lists a year earlier, but then saw his stock skyrocket in 2013. All of this for one year of a player whom the Mets were in no way were going to re-sign.
|
They do discuss the reasoning for the Jays, and it somewhat makes sense, but they massively lost this trade overall.
