Yes, Gareth, because as everyone knows, when you need a late goal, Jordan Henderson is who you bring on

Hey, man, when you have a chance to be in second in the group, with a GD of +1, and two teams who could theoretically catch you on the final match day, you have to protect that.

Managers so set in their ways.
You have 5 subs and a deeper bench than Scotland. Bring in some fresh legs in Sancho and Calvert-Lewis too.
Change the entire front 4 if you need a goal
It’s like he thinks he’s made his two subs and needs to keep his third just in case

Pass the ####ing ball Jack. We knew that plug O'Connell was going to reach in and take a dig.

Southgate is no good for sure, but it feels like that as the overwhelming take is taking the players off the hook. Good tactics, #### tactics, whatever, it's been a dog#### effort from the players.

They've managed a shot on target.

how is Southgate making such a mess out of this? Just play your best players in their best positions and use your ridiculous squad depth to your advantage. It's not ####ing rocket science.

I don't know if I agree that effort is bad.
Feel like England have worked pretty hard. It's been a pretty fast paced and physical match.
To me they look like a side with no creative ideas offensively that would have benefited from a change of tactics or gameplan at halftime.
No idea what Sterling did to deserve the full 90 with Sancho on the bench either.

Sancho not playing a single minute in those two games is one of the most ridiculous things I've seen in a long time. Wow.

To be fair, England's biggest export to the rest of Europe is underwhelming men with an unearned sense of superiority, so this was pretty on brand.

Oh I agree. I'm just not sure "shore up the midfield" is the best strategy when you're having issues creating and finishing chances.

I mean most of my friends growing up had English parents, England is Canada's team pretty much.

In all other circumstances, I would agree haha. Not this time though. One last kick at the can for Luka.
