He has obviously done well since but that is irrelevant at the time of the trade

Plus I get the feeling Treliving will have taken on Burke's attitude on a lot of things about the business, and he's said if the player requests a trade, they're 1000% getting traded no matter what

Its a joke based on how things turned out, don't take it so seriously
It's one of the first posts in this thread and I was accidentally on page one, I didn't go searching it up...relax guy, we all have posts that age terribly
Its pretty funny how Vegas was supposedly a cup contender, then added Eichel, but will finish about 20 points behind the Flames. Crazy what can change in a few months.

Never a fan when guys do this in hindsight. The trade request was public. A year prior to the public trade request, it went sort of under the radar, but Friedman said at the deadline Bennett might be open to getting a new opportunity - which is a subtle trade request. So he had a private trade request for at least a year that became an public trade request. For 2 years.
Did you get your agent to rescind it? If not, c'mon.

He didn’t say he didn’t want to get traded anymore, just that he didn’t think he would.

Not a fan of people looking out for their own best interests?
Not a fan of hockey players being somewhat candid/honest?

Spezza retires to join the Leafs management team. Always seemed like it was in the cards. Smart move by the Leafs. They have to go with a younger guy who can skate faster.

Not sure if this has been posted anywhere, but I read that Flames associate coach Kirk Muller is a candidate for both the flyers and jets coaching jobs

Wasn’t he being groomed to be the next HC for the Flames after Sutter?

No, that was legitimately just random fan speculation.
Ditto with the idea that Sutter is only here for his current contract.

It is just speculation, but I can see this being true.
