I miss the pre-cap era, in the older days a trade would have definitely occurred

Flames need some sort of move to shake up the team

I don't believe they are going to fire anyone.....

I sure haven’t liked his hockey IQ this year, and I had thought it was the highest on the team. The play today where he had a decent chance that was stopped, but he skates right by and throws his head back instead of following the play...

Lets be honest guys... Sutter is the best COACH we have had since the 80's. Someone pick up the phone and phone the farm.

The cynic in me wonders if Lucic is just trying to save Ward's job.

Really though it's coaching, it's the players, it's management. Up and down the ladder there's broken steps.

Definitely (well a retool, at least).

Everything pointed to him needing to make the big change after the bubble. He didn't and now he's merely paying for his inaction then.

A new coach might give this team a temporary lift but it wouldn't solve the lack of mental toughness in the dressing room. We're too pillowy soft and the players can't hand;e adversity.

Well, the Flames have had 2 good coaches so it’s a short list.

Crumbled after the Dave goal. Thing is, they don’t get picked up by a goal like Lucic’s - it’s one way emotion.

I would go as far as to say he has a good chance to have the best NHL career of anyone on the ice tonight.

I miss the days of Bob Hartley. He had a knack for getting the best out of the players.

Opposing GMs must be rubbing their hands together waiting for the inevitable phone call for help from Low-ball Brad after years of his pestering them with his “in on everything” video game approach shotgunning bit parts into trades for quality assets.

Treliving has a bad case of Endowment Effect he needs to get under control if he stays on as Flames GM, but in the short-term that is going to make a COVID-complicated trade environment even more difficult to navigate than it already is.

Milan Lucic on our postgame show following tonight’s 5-1 loss in Ottawa:

“It’s unacceptable. You can’t have everyone show up on Saturday and then expect it to be easy tonight. I think that’s our problem right now…sometimes we want it to be too easy.”

“You hear a lot of outside noise talking about coaching and all this…style of play and all this bull####. But that has nothing to do with the coaches. That has everything to do with the guys that are playing.”

“It seems like…we just want it easy on a night to night basis. We don’t want to work hard like we did when this coaching staff took over last year. There’s more than enough people in this organization that need to look in the mirror.”

The Flames have had 17 coaches. Only 3 have ever been the Head Coach of another NHL team after they left Calgary. That has to be some kind of league record.

That's why you deal with another struggling club.

Hello there, Sabres.

I'm not ready to give up on Tkachuk just yet. I think he is a great player when he is placed in the proper role. I think the system is wrong for him right now though. But everyone else can be traded. Get rid of Monahan as he will never be a strong leader for this team. Get rid of Johnny and Bennett and Gio.

My hot take is that the Flames have at least 1 more win, maybe two, if Domingue was an option after Markstrom went down. Team confidence in the goalie, in addition to more than an acceptable amount of below average goals, many at the wrong time.

Tonight the game was over when players were visably pissed after Rittich gave the Sens a goal minutes after battling back. Zero confidence in him the rest of the game and a team with no confidence, a 2 goal deficit seemed like 4.

Listening to Ward. He is all over the place. I am totally confused. Did anyone understand it?
