This Gushue-Bottcher game is near perfection.

So...bit of a rant here (Im on a roll tonight apparently) but watching a pretty important draw tonight.

I get that TSN has to go with the numbers and show ONT/WC to start the night. Its business. BUT that game is now 10-5 after 6 and WC is going to win...this level its a one in a thousand a comeback happens.

Meanwhile....TC and SK are both 4-1....both teams are among faves and both will be in the next round BUT this is also a massive game for position and also..... a way better and competitive one. Way more people wanna see this in the circumstances.

Yet.......Im still seeing ON/WC....makes zero sense at this point.

This is looking like a really good call at this point.

Both guys are shooting lights out.

If Ontario and New Brunswick both lose, we will have late night curling.

No tiebreakers as the super 8 is set and the next two days will be insane.

Alberta (Bottcher) 7-0
Wildcard (McEwan) 6-1
Saskatchewan (Dunstone) 6-1
Newfoundland (Gushue) 6-1
Canada (Koe) 5-2
Manitoba (Gunnlauson) 5-2
Ontario (Epping) 4-3
Northern Ontario (Jacobs) 4-3

Koe rink is done it seems.

Looks a lot like a final 4 of Bottcher, Gushue, Jacobs and McEwen. With Saskatchewan being a possible fly in the ointment.

The curling has been crazy good this week. The weight they can throw with accuracy is unbelievable.

I really enjoy the Scotties because they tend to be more strategic because they don't necessarily have the weapon of the big weight. Almost any shot is possible at the Brier. It is lots of fun with some spectacular shots!

What a mess with 4 teams tying for 4th.

Alberta, Sask or Newfoundland will have to win 2 games in a row to win this thing.

One of the 7-4 teams will need to win 5 games in a row against incredible competition.

Dunstone has been making crazy shots all week. What a shot to get into the 1-2 game.

Mcewen was playing well this week, much better then the MB play downs. It looks like he and Carruthers have found some chemistry that they looked to have lacked. I really like Mike, but something about how he, Koe and Jacobs to a lesser extent carry themselves on the ice vs Botcher, Epping and Gushue, Dunstone too. Like no confidence in their own game calling, and just seem to really overthink every shot, I think kennedy, as good as he is, has brought that to Jacobs' team and it hasn't really helped them either. Bottcher, Gushue and Epping play with a lot of confidence, positivety and look like they are still having fun.

Shot by Gushue was incredible. Looked like he would give up 3 for sure.

This Brier may be the highest caliber curling event ever. It is just unbelievable.

For the Jacobs team to play as well as they did, in their third game of the day, says a ton about their mental and physical fitness. They’ve been behind the eight ball since they were 1-3 and played spectacularly well since then.

Bottcher and Gushue played a very open game in their previous matchup - lots of blanks. It will be interesting to see if they put more rocks in play tomorrow. My money is on the experience of Gushue but Bottcher is so good that I’m not exactly confident in my bet.

Good point. My brain has been overwhelmed with curling today! Sask has played very well and will be a tough challenge for Gushue. I think Gushue is the odds on favourite though.

Dunstone and Gushue with another beauty today.

Clever tap back from Gushue to force Dunstone to take points (either one or two) in the ninth end so he could have the hammer in the tenth.

Sigh.

Four ends in a row Bottcher has made a bad shot. He's lucky it's not a blowout.
