shes seems faster than Sabalenka?

She is, but Sabalenka moves better than she did in past tournaments.

It really is all about the first serve for both players. Leylah is in trouble this game because she missed four of them before hitting it the last couple of points.

EDIT: Bad shot selection for Sabalenka there to go for the winner on 2nd serve, just like Leylah the game before.

We will see it on Sabalenka's face, she doesn't really have a poker face. She's either stoic or terrified.

My goodness, that backhand from Leylah is deadly thus far.

Which bodes well considering her forehand is her better shot. But when you're returning a serve upwards of 110 (up to 117 was the fastest I saw, my God) you probably want two hands on the racket.

Outstanding volley from Sabalenka. That's part of the problem, she has that in her game. You can't just hit a decent drop shot and expect that to work.

Sabalenka is playing some great tennis and yet Leylah is right there. If she can get this first set to a tie-break, who knows?

Crowd seems to be mostly cheering for Fernandez which is awesome to see. Underdog story? Or love from our neighbors?

Do people relax watching tennis? It feels like OT but constant.

^No. That is what it feels like to be a tennis fan. Constant, vicarious anxiety. It's exhausting and glorious. Imagine playing it.

Sabalenka gifting her free points is literally the only thing keeping Leylah in this tiebreak. She needs to start hitting first serves.
