Holy #### this thing is gorgeous... I literally spent an hour last night watching HDR videos on YouTube. You'd think slow motion honey dripping off a spoon would be boring, but apparently not.

It's just so god damn PRETTY!!!! The only complaint I have is with the credit card bill.

I'm thinking of trading my LCD gaming monitor for a LG CX (48") to use as a PC monitor just for the HDR experience.

I assume that's because it's not actually in 4K, nor is it available in HDR. Lucky for you, it's not actually that type of $4K TV.

Oh baby, it's great if you want to throw the money around. I think they are releasing a 40" version this year I think though.

That's been rumoured for a while. I kind of wonder if they've waited too long.

I'm a big fan of the Android TV on my Sony. It works great and integrates well with the Google home.

I had my eye on the 85” Samsung QN90 on Amazon and now they’ve suddenly jumped in price by like $2k. F—k. Should have bought it before Christmas.

Hoping to see the new matte version of the Samsung Frame in person. A Christmas time purchase is the plan if possible.

It turns out that while smaller versions of the QN85A use an ADS panel, the 85" version of the Samsung QN85A also uses a VA panel like its big brother QN90A I had my eye on.

Soooo I bought one this morning, just waiting for Amazon to confirm the delivery date.

It is pretty solid stuff.

Good new is, you can have it on any TV you own, doesn't need to be built in at all.

It can be the difference between two otherwise similar TVs though. Frees up an extra HDMI port, and on higher end TVs with good processors you can get a much better experience than a Chromecast

Very true.

Just an nice way to upgrade an older TV. But totally agree. If I'm comparing similar models, I'd go with the one with Google TV as well.

I wish Samsung and LG would just ditch their proprietary TV operating systems and adopt Android like they do with their phones (or did in LG's case). Tizen and Web OS are terrible, and everyone I know with a Samsung or LG TV just uses their own streaming stick to bypass them. Would make more sense to just move to Google TV and grab their own share of that precious user data

What is better, Roku or Android TV? I've only used Roku (built in) and it works great. I wish there was a browser I guess, but that's pretty minor.

Completely agree. I avoid Samsung for the most part as I don't like the O/S you are forced to use. And I think Samsung has gotten quite bad about ads on their TV's. Good screens, just don't care for the software.

Based on some minor reading and brief experience with my parents TV that has Roku, I'd be going Google TV all the way.

If you're a power user (or a big nerd like me) then the Google TV is the better choice, especially because you can sideload APKs.

But for my 67 year old mother-in-law who wants to watch tennis, Netflix, and Disney+, the Roku makes it dead simple, even down to the remote literally having a 'Netflix' and 'Disney+' button on it.
