I’m used to being optimistic and being let down. For the second time this season I think I’ll take a different approach by predicting doom and gloom.

Putting all my will towards Thanos snapping MacKinnon out of existence. It's bound to work some time!

I am really hoping that the beating and embarrassment they just went through has some how flipped the switch, much like when the Pens handed it to them early in the season.
That really seemed to be the turning point for the Flames season.
It’s hard to be positive after that display the other night, but this team is good! That was not the Flames we know and love. We all know they are so much better than that.
Go Flames Go!!!

This. My optimism has been crushed - I hope they prove be wrong.

On the plus side, 56 shots against is tied for 2nd worst the Flames franchise has ever allowed so it can't really get any worse than Monday.

Rangers vs Flames - Jan 23, 75 - 57 against
Leafs vs Flames - Dec 29, 73 - 56 against
Hawks vs Flames - Nov 8, 81 - 56 against
Avs vs Flames - April 15, 2019 - 56 against

It's win-win for you. You can either get credit for being right, or be pleasingly surprised.

I'd like to see:

Gaudreau-Monahan-Bennett
Tkachuk-Backlund-Frolik
Mangiapane-Ryan-Hathaway
Dube-Lindholm-Neal

Jankowski has been the worst Flames forward in the series. He's a PK specialist, and that's about all he brings to the game. No offence, no jam, no speed, not a strong checker.

Lindholm can play centre, and maybe he'll spark Neal. Dube would bring speed and maybe some offence.

Gio-Andersson
Hanafin-Hamonic
Valimaki-Brodie

I don't think Fantenberg has played badly. But Valamaki is faster and more dynamic. He could give the team a spark.

These are the kinds of moments that i think coaching and leadership can really factor in to the results. Can Peters make the type of adjustments that are necessary? He has seen what we've all seen, Mackinnon is running our show. Can he slow him down?

Exactly. We all know what they are capable of (and swept this same team during the season), no reason they can't turn it around. Plus, at the start of the year we would've killed to be freaking out going into a huge game 4 in the playoffs, just enjoy the ride.

...and if the Flames lay another egg and get embarrassed like Monday, then they are clearly not ready for this stage yet so it is what it is. That Monday Flames team would get absolutely murdered by Vegas in round 2, I'd rather avoid that entirely if that's the case. I'm just going to enjoy the ride and hope they can pull it out tonight.

I like what Fantenberg brings for the most part, but he is pretty slow. For that reason, and it being a road game where Colorado can pick on him with MacKinnon, I'd like to see Valimaki in for Fantenberg.

It's one game. We won a lot of games this season. Why can't we win this one? We should be able right? I predicted a 6-1 Flames loss last game (so close) but I see the Flames offense exploding tonight, the good guys win this one 7-3

Lindholm has almost been useless since the allstar break. I bet Ferland would put a hurt on Mackinnon.

Ferland is injured for the 100th time this season... Hamilton had 2 bad games and one good one

An early goal and a puck controlled first would do wonders for this team. Let's hope the hype has gotten to the Avs head a bit....but I think we may have created a bit of a monster here by not putting them away in game 2.
