Don’t believe I’ve seen one prospect/draft projection that has Iginla in the top 10, let alone 5. Seems like it would be quite the stretch to take him there, but you never know, I guess.

That said if Iginla is gone before the Flames make their pick, that could be a good thing for the Flames. One way or the other picking, or not picking, Iginla could be a move that follows this team for years.

God, Opra Winfrey... please have the Flames pick that Berkley Catton if he's still available in the 7-9 range.

I've watched a couple Spokane games online the past month and he literally makes these other kids look like pylons. He's so fast and has such a versatile skillset.

I'm serious, anyone who hasn't seen this kid's highlights, go look him up so you can be just as disappointed as me when he gets picked right before us or even worse when we pass on him for a 6'4" project player.

- Iginla goes 17 to Philly

if we take a USNTDP defenseman at 31, I surely hope it's Hutson (he goes at 33 in this mock). We passed on his brother in 2022 (62 to MTL, we took Rönni at 59), would suck to see it happen again.

Unless you seriously think the Canucks are going to the Finals, the pick will be before #31 anyway.

We are going to use the pick we gain from trading Marky at the deadline to get Iggy, book it!

I think there's a very good chance Buium falls. Similar to Sandin Pellikka last year.

I don't. They need a legit #1 D man and there are too many good ones around 5.

Oh boy, Marek Vanacker going at #42 overall, and the Flames passing on him twice for Emery and Jecho, would be a crime against humanity.

Depends on what Montreal thinks they drafted last year. Given they have used 3 of their last 5 first round picks on dmen (as opposed to a team like Calgary that has not used a first round pick on a dman since 2017) I could easily see the Habs drafting a forward. Not sure it is going to be Iginla at 5th overall though.

I don't think many realise how good Jr can be, very young, strong and very talented.

I suspect history will show he's worthy of a top 5 pick, which is why he's on my list as a top 3 forward in this draft, unfortunately I think he'll be gone before the flames pick
