Has anyone shrunk a Flames jersey on purpose

I have a few Flames jerseys that are probably in the large to xl area & I was looking to shrink down a bit to not be so long / bulky. Original thought was to leave them, someone mentioned to maybe get them tailored a bit but I don’t wear them enough to put money into it for a fix and then my neighbor said I should try shrinking them in the wash?!

I have never done this, any thoughts around this? Will the colour run? Will it ruin the jersey and will it even work. The jerseys are not blank as they have players names on them. Thanks for any tips.

This plus nothing shrinks in the direction you want it to.

That was my thought as well. My wife was the jersey collector, keeper & washer for a few seasons on our sons hockey team when I coached and thought that as well but weren’t sure.

Post it in the Buy and Sell and see if anyone wants to trade a size that fits you.

i'd go the easy route and start eating whatever i wanted to so i could properly fill out the jersey.
