From 4-1 down to 5-5 - Nice tennis from Shapo to get back on serve.

Denis has screwed his head back on straight and is really giving it to Stan now as well. Back on serve in the second after being down 1-4!

These last two matches (the comeback against Steve Johnson and then winning today after that disappointing first set tie-breaker) have shown great heart from Brayden.

Live rankings has Schnur leapfrogging Polansky into #120 in the world with this win. Don't want to get too crazy but he's looking like he's found another gear in his career. One more win will effectively change the course of his pro career landing inside the top 100.

I think at the start of this year, he was in the low 200's. A fine run of tennis in 2019 for Brayden.

Well, at least Denis kept fighting in that second set, down 4-1, he could have puled a Tomic or Kyrgios and tanked away a couple of games. Just too many unforced errors from Shapo today.

Interestingly enough, if Jung beats Querry it would set up a rematch of the Schnur/Jung match from the Newport Challenger a few weeks ago. Schnur throttled him 6-2, 6-1.

Yeah, hoping that Jung can upset Querrey, Sam is a big server and will be tough to break. That said, Brayden did okay against Steve Johnson who brings the heat.

Brayden will be facing Sam Querrey in the semi-finals on Saturday as Querrey defeats Jason Jung 6-3 3-6 6-3. It's going to be big boy tennis as both guys have huge serves, so I don't expect too many rallies going beyond 5 shots.

What a battle by Schnur to save a handful of set points and stay in the first set at 5-5

Nice! Schnur takes the tiebreak 9-7.

I thought he threw it away when he lost the 7-6 point with the serve.

That forehand down the line past Querrey was top drawer stuff.

yes, Brayden with an early break in set 2.

Edit: Querrey breaks back a couple of games later. On serve with Brayden leading 3-2 in set 2.

Darn it, Querrey breaks again and is serving up 4-3. All of a sudden, Brayden's serve is letting him down.
