Will Nault@Fan960Nault
Bo Levi Mitchell on with us right now. The decision to come back to the #CFL wasn't made until late Monday night.
Guaranteed money was the biggest issue. Denver was his preferred destination but it sounded like a #3 job and he believed that wasn't the right route for him.
Will Nault@Fan960Nault
Denver told him they planned to trade for a guy or sign someone else with NFL experience and with Case Keenum already signed for next season, he knew it was likely destined to be a #3 role and nothing more without injury.
Will Nault@Fan960Nault
On the #CFL, Bo said he had it down to two other teams. The money was high. It came down to offensive pieces and coaching, said it was all about winning. Mitchell indicated that the signings of Brescasin, Rogers, and Jorden were key to his decision to come back. Believes in CGY.

The Toronto Argonauts made the splash of the day on Wednesday with the signing of international defensive tackle Cory “Poop” Johnson.
....
His nickname originates from his time at Kentucky — specifically his propensity for pooping while with the Wildcats — and is one he has embraced fully.

CFL records since 2008:
Calgary - 155-61-2
Edmonton - 112-100
BC Lions - 111-101
Saskatchewan - 104-108
Montreal - 103-106
Hamilton - 91-121
Winnipeg - 85-120
Toronto - 84-123
Ottawa - 45-50-2
This might have had something to do with Bo taking less money to stay with Stamps as well.
Stamps are 43 wins clear of 2nd place. 2nd place is only 28 wins clear of 8th place.

Thanks for all the updates folks!
I enjoy the CFL, am a born and raised Stamps fan, but dont have the time to follow it as close as I'd like. All this news here, efficiently summarized, is awesome!

This is shaping up to be a very interesting season this year. And it will culminate with the Grey Cup right here in Calgary!

He did also mention that is was full on backup or bust for him in the NFL. He mentioned somebody else who was given $1M to be a 3rd string, but then ended up being cut. Would have made coming back a little harder if teams already had their marquee player.

It's not the nhl or nfl, say tkachuk takes a 'hometown discount', hes still gonna be signing a contract worth 7+ million a year
It's a lot of money yes, but for a lot of people it's not a long career
This might be his last big contract, he has a family, and wants to set their safety up for life

Although when his contract is up, he'll still be two years younger than Reilly is right now so perhaps he can get another deal.
Though it's true, you never know with football.

Have no problem with him wanting max money, as he's given up his dream of an NFL job (probably, never know).
And money higher in Toronto, but after moving expenses and higher home prices, taking home less.
And Sask was there in the mix to drive up the Argos.

I think Courtney Stephen is a fine DB, but I hope there's still cap room for Ciante Evans.
Edit: Upon further review, methinks Stephen is likely the replacement for the loss of Tunde Adeleke.

It could be the case the 2 brothers conspired to drive up the price on the Argos.

He could be one knee injury away from being done with Football. So I can see why he wanted a big contract and didn't take a huge hometown discount.

Gump Worsley provided one of my favourite quotes of all time - When he played for the Rangers, a reporter asked him, "Which team gives you the most trouble?"
Worsley: The New York Rangers

Rumours out there suggest that Ciante Evans was looking to sign with an AAF team - With the league already on financial life support, hopefully that means Ciante will be inking a deal with the Stamps in short order.
