Yeah, not too surprising, unfortunately. He really seemed to be spiraling over the last few years. The curse of being a child star strikes again.
The youngest of two child stars completely overshadowed by the older brother. Like, how can someone go through life when the media attention on you probably felt a bit more like pity for being the 2nd most famous Carter. Then sprinkle on top of that all that new information posted above about his sister and his brother treating him the way they did.
A bit surprised he made it out of his 20s TBH. Makes me sad to think that man never knew anything resembling normal life. Or even a standard life of a celebrity.

Comedian Gallagher, best known for his watermelon-smashing comedy routine and many popular specials in the 1980s, died Friday morning, according his manager Craig Marquardo. He was 76.
According to a statement provided to CNN by Marquardo, the comedian died “after a short health battle” and “passed away surrounded by his family in Palm Springs, California.”
I've grown up with and been alive for many Batmans. Adam West was still regularly on TV. Keaton, Kilmer, Clooney, Bale, Affleck in the movies I've seen. Rino Romano, Deidrich Bader and even Jason O'Mara.
Through it all, when I think about "who played Batman?" or "Who was Batman?" My first thought is and will always be Kevin Conroy. When I read a comic book and Batman is speaking, I hear Kevin Conroy. He was the best at showing Bruce Wayne and Batman were actually very different people. The change in pacing and tone between the two made it easy to believe that it was two different people talking. His portrayal was also the best at showing that Batman was Batman and Bruce Wayne was the secret identity. The animation was part of this, but it was Conroy's voice that gave it gravitas and life. None of the other voice actors I listed have ever been able to show you the duality of Bruce/Batman. Really, no other actor has. Some have tried to emulate Conroy but it just isn't the same. Bale's altering of his voice to that animal-like growl when wearing the cowl was almost impossible to understand and came off as campy.

I've been watching Batman cartoons religiously since I was 10. For an actor whose face you never see, it's remarkable how familiar and attached you become with them.
Lately I'd been thinking of changing or updating my ~10 year old avatar, but now I can't.

Kevin Conroy's most famous line as Batman is probably "I am vengeance. I am the night. I am Batman!" but I don't think it's his best. Rather, I think it's the scene from Mask of the Phantasm where Bruce—not Batman, but Bruce—pleads for forgiveness at his parents' grave for being in love.
"I know I made a promise, but I didn't see this coming. I didn't count on being happy..."
Kevin Conroy is the only actor who has ever played the role who could convincingly play that scene. There's one little touch that is absolutely masterful and gets me every time: the way he delivers the word "happy". His lips were wet. It makes sense because the scene takes place outside in the rain, but the man delivered the line in a recording studio, so either he had the forethought to splash his face with water to simulate the rain... or tears really were streaming down his face.
Either way, I don't believe anyone else who's been Batman could do it.

I learned last night that Paddy Moloney of the Chieftains died October 12...of last year! I had no idea, and it actually put me in a bad mood for the evening. The leader of the group most responsible for bringing Irish music to the world.
