Icon25 Beer Poll VI - Wars (and beers) begin and end with handshakes

The brackets have been combined for simplicity! apologies to those who have voted already, but I have made a new poll with the top 32.

Here's the poll everyone and may the best beer win!

https://www.polltab.com/bracket-poll/as121Vnbgr

These previous polls are no longer valid, but may be used for reference, polltab only allows 32 entrants per poll. Hence the 2 polls! DO NOT VOTE IN THESE POLLS

So here it is, my 3rd and potentially last poll. This one will be set up slightly different from the pizza poll where we will compile a list to start, select a top 4 for seeding and fill in the gaps via a randomizer.

My thoughts on selecting a top 4 would be done in a poll created in this thread. If a mod could give me some guidance on thread polls that would be awesome. I'm hoping to have the 32 beers all listed in the top 4 seeding poll and allowing each user to make 4 selections. If that isnt possible I can do it in polltab as well.

Voting security will be increased this time as well.

Something to keep in mind for submissions, if you pick a microbrewery from northern manitoba that no ones been to, that beer will probably not fare too well in the poll. With that said way left field submissions will probably get pre emptively cut. Let's try to keep it to big box breweries and microbrews from Alberta.

Now that the mumbo jumbo is out of the way, let's get to the fun stuff!

1) Guinness [1st seed]
17) Coors Banquet [4th seed]

just so I understand the exercise- we are 'nominating' specific beers? not (micro)breweries per se?

Yep pick specific beers, not breweries or brands. I'm expecting a much bigger list than pizza, but polltab has a 32 entry limit (I believe, have to double check).

Corona should take this pretty easily. It's my pick.

Put in a request for Bud Light Lime!

Grasshopper & Traditional from Big Rock.

We could probably do a pretty good list of 32 from just Western Canadian microbreweries, then one from the mass-produced/imports.

By Pilsner, I assume you mean the one with the rabbits on the label. If so, we also need the real stuff, Pilsner-Urquell.

I was hoping to keep it one poll and striking a balance of mass produced vs craft. There's a powder keg of discussion waiting to happen.

This poll is nothing without Schlitz.

How about some Old Vienna? Or Black Label?

Rickards Red or Keiths Red, they are fairly similar.
Sapporo
Dos Equis

Should probably add Kokanee and Coors light if you are going to have mass produced stuff.

Edit:
Heineken
Genuine Draft

I’d like to see half the grid reserved for craft beers. The definition of craft is not being owned by InBev / Molson Coors. I’d also limit each craft brewery to one beer. I’d also match up craft vs commercial in an epic first round show down.

But however you want to set it up will be great

I nominate Village Blacksmith

ok phew- both Pilsners listed as it should be

Ok

Cabin- Super Saturation

and Ballast Point Sculpin IPA are 2 I would like to suggest (although I agree we could fill a whole segment with local brews alone!)

(would like to propose Heady Topper here but not exactly widely available)
