Apparently Trump posted an insane 46 minute rant today, spouting all of his greatest hits about election fraud and saying that it was "statistically impossible for him to have lost the election. Totally normal.

The rambling and bellicose monologue — which Trump said “may be the most important speech I’ve ever made” and was delivered direct-to-camera with no audience — underscored his desperation to reverse the outcome of his election loss after a month of failed legal challenges and as some key states already have certified Biden’s victory.
The president’s latest salvo came a day after his attorney general, William P. Barr, said the Justice Department had found no evidence of voting fraud that could have changed the outcome of the election.

Trump claimed in Wednesday’s video, again without evidence, that “corrupt forces” had stuffed ballot boxes with fraudulent votes. He claimed the fraud was “massive” and “on a scale never seen before.” He called on the Supreme Court to “do what’s right for our country,” which he suggested entailed terminating hundreds of thousands of votes so that “I very easily win in all states.”

Trump also claimed that Dominion Voting Systems, which manufactures voting machines used in many states, was “very suspect” and that many voters who pressed the button for “Trump” had their votes counted for Biden. There is no evidence that votes were in any way compromised, and Dominion has said there is no merit to Trump’s claims.

Norm Eisen, a former Obama appointee who serves as counsel to the bipartisan Voter Protection Program, called that interpretation “constitutional disinformation that has no basis in law.”

That speech was historic. He really went aggressively into attacking the election results, accusing the Democrats of outright intentional fraud, and even saying the election results don't count and should be disregarded. I mean, it's a pretty wild speech to be delivered by a president in the WH.

The certificate of ascertainment is what is signed by the state validating the electors. It’s a package.
But it’s important, too, because in the event of competing slates of electors, the electors who have the stamp of approval from the state’s executive are the ones whose votes will count. We’re getting into the weeds a bit here, but it’s worth summarizing our past, lengthier looks at this.

In short, it is possible that both Biden and Trump electors could meet in their states on Dec. 14 to cast their votes for president. Both sets of electors could transmit those votes to Washington. The House and Senate, when opening the votes on Jan. 6 — the final step in determining the winner — would then have two slates of electors from, say, Wisconsin. The House and Senate would vote on which slate to accept. Given the composition of each body, it’s possible that the House might pick the Biden electors and the Senate the Trump ones.

Biden has a lead among the states that have already transmitted their certificates of ascertainment to D.C.
But, again, those states include most of the ones that Trump is currently fighting to overturn. He wants to claim he won Arizona — but the certificate of ascertainment already indicates under the governor’s signature and with the state seal that the electors go to Biden. Same with Pennsylvania and Michigan and Georgia. Biden not only won those states, he has the backup documentation he needs in case Trump really starts to take things sideways. And with those states alone, he passes the 270 electoral-vote mark.
It’s over. It’s been over for nearly a month, of course, but now it’s over over. Biden is going to get the electoral votes he needs to be president, and even if there’s a dispute in Washington when those votes are counted, his votes will be counted in the states where Trump has been most fervent about alleging fraud.

I do find it a little fascinating that Dominion bought Diebold a decade ago. And if you remember them, they had huge controversies around shoddy machines and counting problems. I seem to remember the Republicans heavily supporting them, and the Democrats denouncing them, but I might have that wrong.
