Thiem and Tsitsipas are on serve in the first set at the Nitto ATP Finals which can be seen on TSN2.

It very well could be my friend, but that's still some time away. So many guys could be in the mix (Rublev, Medvedev, Zverev etc.) and how long do Novak and Rafa want to play? By that time, I think it's likely that Djoker and Rafa have both passed Roger and are battling it out for most grand slam titles which would be tremendous motivation for both.

Is it a big deal to you if Rafa never wins this tournament? I guess it's a big title and he's the only one out of the big 3 not to win it, but to me I've always considered the Tour Finals equivalent to a Master's 1000 event. I'd much rather win Olympic gold than this.

It certainly would be viewed as something missing from his resume if he didn't win one of these tourneys, but just a minor one, in my opinion.
/Looking forward to this Rafa - Rublev match which is coming up shortly.

Rafa takes it 6-3 6-4. That looked like the old Rublev, not the 2020 Rublev who has won five tourneys this year. Rafa played quite well today, but didn't have to do anything special.

Got the job done, but I noticed he's still too defensive needs to be more offensive on indoor hardcourt.

Novak had no problem with Diego this morning winning 6-3 6-2. Later today, Zverev takes on Medvedev.

I watched the Guillermo Vilas documentary on Netflix the other night entitled "Settling the Score" - For those not familiar with it, it details Guillermo's life growing up in Argentina as a tennis prodigy and his life on tour. The documentary is mainly centered though on his quest to be recognized as achieving the number 1 ranking (something he never did officially). If interested, the link below gives an excellent recap of the documentary. I thought it was pretty good, but it dragged a little in some spots. There's no denying that in 1977, there was no better tennis player on the planet than Vilas even if the rankings didn't acknowledge it.

I know folks here will be disappointed to hear that Medvedev beat Zverev in straight sets 6-3 6-4.

Zverev is no good and should never win another ATP match for the rest of his career, which should also not exist either

You might say Danill got a little underhanded in this match...

This sounds super interesting, and we have almost no tennis movies/docs out so I'm going to watch this.

Thiem saves two set points before winning the first set in a tie-breaker 9-7. Spectacular tennis from both guys.

Rafa was waiting for that Thiem inside-out forehand and ripped it down the line for the break.
Edit: Thiem breaks right back with some incredible shots.
