They are a good business...Just a mediocre on field product.
The best business in the NFL and it's reflected in their net worth. You really can't argue with most of what Jones has done as he's build an empire and as a hands on owner he's actually managed to build at the very least a good regular season team for some time which is something most hands on owners can't even accomplish. The problem I have seen mostly is that his head coach hires have been poor. It seems that he's been hesitant to hire established or high profile assistants that would want some power and say in personnel. Probably because just doesn't want to be told when he's wrong. Also he seems to get too chummy and attached to players almost trying to be some father figure making for a weird dynamic where players can go over the coach's head. He's been 90% great for the Cowboys but the last 10% is always going to separate his team from the top organizations that have better working dynamics in the facilities.

When a knee gets "shredded", this has to be the definition moving forward.

I was listening to this on NFL radio this morning. Missed most of his rookie season because of an ACL tear in his left knee and now his right knee he tears nearly everything. That has to be so hard on that family as he's a good player and you just never know if or when he will play again.

IIRC that's what happened to Javonte Williams in Denver and his promising career went directly into the toilet. Good luck to that man

So what's going on in Philly with Brown, Hurts, and Brandon Graham. Is this a WR being a diva, or just a big nothing burger? Carolina gave them a stiff test...but it was a bad spot and the Panthers have actually played pretty well in their last few games. So I didn't think a win by 6 should be cause for concern.

It's because the Eagles have totally flipped from a pass heavy team to a rush heavy team and Brown (and other WR i assume) aren't real happy about it. Certainly not a Philly issue either, it happens everywhere.

Winning should be the only thing that matters but WR's are just such whiners.

It's weird to me actually how often they go off the rails.

WR’s are the biggest divas in sports. It’s crazy how selfish some of these guys are.

I guess Shula's record wasn't that important to him after all. Kind of weird at his age with to the college route at his age. Maybe he wasn't keen on the possible NFL openings or his ultimate chances to get one.

Well I do think Brown / Smith are wrong to air it out publicly...they probably aren't wrong about the Eagles needing to be better in the passing game.

They now rank 2nd last in the NFL with 181 passing yards per game.

Their rushing game is elite of course, and Barkley should be an MVP finalist, but I think you're going to have a tough time in the playoffs if you can't pass the football. They are 8th in pts/game and 7th in total yards per game, so it's not hurting them, but they are going to need to find more balance here.

The scuttlebut I heard wad that the offensive line went to Sirianni after week 4 and pleaded for the offence to be more run heavy. So they did go this way and now have 9 straight wins. Part of that would be injury at the time. Part of it is also playing to strengths.

I don't think myself that the Eagles can't throw but that they haven't needed to. Having a guy like A.J.Brown and Devante Smith forces a team to respect the pass and not load up the box to stop the run. When Brown was with the Titans when he was out teams stacked the box and could limit Derrick Henry. When he played he would torch teams who stacked the box. But if they fell behind in a game and needed to catch up they might be able to. They just haven't had to do that.

Passing yards is an overrated stat. Yards per pass is much more indicative of team success. So passing yards minus sack yards divided by pass attempts plus sacks is passing success rate. I have the Iggles at 6.5 yards per dropback which is better than average. 7 or better is elite in that number. So combine that with a running attack that's 11 yards better than anyone else and almost 40 yards more than the third place team.

Hurts does seem to take more sacks than he should averaging 2.8 a game on 28 drop backs and 20 yards lost. But that could also indicate an offensive line that isn't as good at pass blocking vs run blocking.

Pretty crazy how unbalanced this week's schedule is. Early games are basically trash, late window is incredible. And MNF is probably the worst slate in history with a very smelly doubleheader.

As is tradition the early games will be good, late window lame, and we'll get a fantastic MNF doubleheader

We could play a drinking game. Every time Cousins or Ridder throws a pick you do a shot.

You might pass out before the end of the first half but I view that as a win.

I will say a Ridder Revenge Game has huge comedic potential. But Res is probably right, cause we never get nice things.

I wonder what the over/under will be on how many times Pierce punts on the Falcons side of the field?

Now this is more like the classic TNF stinkfests we're used to.

Excluding games affected by weather this is one of the worst halves of football this season.

Wow kickers are good these days. Karty nails a 48 yarder in the rain that a Niner got a finger on.

Just a horrible first half. At least it’s over quickly with all the running plays. Stafford at 4-12 with 23 yards showing he has played his entire career in domes.
