Wow, just drove by Chick Fil A now, it's somehow even more backed up, 5 days in. Cars are stopped on Mcleod about 1km in the right hand lane (with many more trying to hopelessly turn left from northbound Mcleod into the Adrenaline sports parking lot) to wait to get into the back of the sleep country parking lot where you go behind two buildings and come back to the side of Chick Fila in a double wide line of cars to be put into the actual drive thru line.
The pedestrian option to get into the restaurant doesn't look much better. I'd estimate probably 150-200 vehicles lined up with 100 or more people standing in line. That would have to be 3 hours minimum to get a fast food chicken burger. Who are these people? That's bonkers.

He never said that!
Although I did go to a roadside place one time where you could watch one of the workers catch whichever chicken you chose and then the chef would kill it and cook it right in front of you.
I mean...the food was good, but the ambiance was a little brutal.

I stopped going to Chick Fil A when I heard how much they spent opposing gay marriage.
I don’t have control over things like that, but I sure as sh-t ain’t giving them my money.

Also, their biscuits were always too dry.

Gay marriages and dry biscuits in the same post?
I’m going Popeyes tonight.
Edit: for real, last meal with my grandson before he deploys to Latvia and he likes chicken.

Never tried the sandwiches but like the fried chicken. I enjoy that you can tell they actually brine it

Does Calgary have any Mary Brown’s (or MB). If so, is it any good? They’re opening in Belfast soon, so might check them out.

Mary Browns will seem ok if you have never had good chicken ( like Popeyes).

Dont get me wrong, I love KFC, it is deliciously awful, but for whatever reason, for me...KFC comes with consequences.
There was a Mary Brown's across from my old office. Man...if that old office hadn't been such a craphole...I had Holy Smoke, Mary Brown's, Rocky's Burger Bus just a plethora of places to eat.
I like Mary Brown's but it is 'middle-of-the-road' stuff. Its not going to blow you away. Better than KFC, but not as good as Chicken-on-The-Way.

Some of my earliest memories of Calgary are of eating Chicken on the Way.
Sadly, I suspect they may not open in Belfast,
Not in the near future anyway.

n 2024, the company opened their first restaurant outside Canada at Lisburn in Northern Ireland exclusively under the abbreviated name MB Chicken and has opened one in Belfast.[11][12] They also intend to open locations in the UK, India, Pakistan, and Mexico in 2024. They plan to open another 300-400 international locations in the next five years

For me, the Big Mary is the best fast food chicken sandwich out there now.

I think Mary Brown's is the best of all of them, for the sandwich and the fried chicken
Used to love Chicken on the Way but I swear the last several times I've had it they forgot to season anything at all
