I think it was mentioned somewhere that the flex bathrooms will still have urinals, but a dividing wall can be moved into place when they flex into women's bathrooms.

That is a very mediocre building, imo. keep in mind the rendering pics and vids are typically where a building shines the brightest and looks the flashiest. I understand I appear to be in the small minority, but I'm just not feeling this design. Other than the LED board stuff, it looks like a bunch of grey, monolithic slabs that don't really flow together with each other very well.
Even the street level stuff has an early 2000's "we're just starting to try out opening shops and restaurants to the sidewalk" vibe to it.

Yeah and the people looked totally unrealistic. Though I’m pretty sure at one point an old lady walked directly into the front of someone so that kind of checks out.

I'm surprised no one has been asking the hard questions!
Can we get Nickleback to play on the roof?

Okay.. what about paper towel dispensers vs. air hand dryers?
Also: Soap.
Rogers Place in Edmonton has no soap.

I agree that from the outside, it is a bit mundane, and I was hoping for something with more wow factor - one thing about the Saddledome, it was an iconic design that suited the city perfectly, in its time.
However, what really matters is how it looks and functions inside, and so far it looks pretty good to me.

Yeah I'm with you, it's not a particularly notable or interesting piece of architecture. Lots of angles and stuff going on, but there's no real defining personality or vision there. And knowing Calgary developments, I don't expect it to be saved by great materials or exceptional craftsmanship. We were told that Little Ceasars in Detroit was their inspiration, but as of now, this looks about as atmospheric as the Devonian Gardens reno.
I'm sure it will be fine, but I was hoping for something distinctive (especially considering the price point). It doesn't help that we're coming from an icon.

I think it should be a City requirement to present all new developments with at least one rendering/video visualized in grey February, with the appropriate brown slush roads/sidewalks, and a couple of dirt-caked F150s parked out front.

I think the outside looks better than Little Caesar's - though comparable

There not one new NHL arena that stands out architecturally. They look mostly the same on the exterior.
I think the only unique one is the Islanders new barn where they have some spires .
Little Caesars doesn't look and worse off than the Scotia place. And we are all incredibly grateful I think that it isn't some aluminium dome show like Rogers place.
Personally I don't really care what the outside looks like, the important part is how user friendly it's going to be on the inside. And I think it looks pretty great on that part.
I guess we will see what it ends up looking like but at least it's not going to be an eyesore.

This is an important point! We need to be honest about how most people will experience these things most of the time. Those presentations always overdo the pre-dusk bling shots.

None of the space allocated as "flex" rooms will have urinals, but the flex rooms on the main concourse will be connected to the men's rooms with a sliding door separating the flex room's 6 stalls from the men's room's 9 urinals and 5 stalls, like you described.
On the upper concourse, the flex rooms are separate from the men's rooms and don't have urinals (but if they're designated as men's rooms for an event, men can still pee in them).

Only if they can borrow your helicopter... and leave them up there.
