It will get overlooked in a 7-2 game, but Rittich was huge again today. Blues were the better team for large chunks of the 2nd and 3rd period and he made some big saves to stop them from getting any momentum. He's the reason this didn't turn into a river hockey shootout, and the key contributor for the Flames walking away from the weekend with 4 points. Guy is a stud

Spoiler!

Great win! Was at a Christmas function, but spent the whole time with my head down, streaming on my phone. Glad to see a big win!

You could tell Backlund was really trying to get Neal off the schneid in that final PP, forcing the puck to him but Neal flubs a pass from Backs and then had about 4 Blues within a foot of him on the 2nd attempt. Then frickin Alan Quine comes in a few seconds later and pots his 2nd goal of the game!!! LOL. Neal must be shaking his head.

Also how epic SCF rematch be... This time with better cameras. The goal was in!
My heart wouldn't be able to take it, but a rematch would be incredible, especially if they somehow avenged Iggy/Kipper's squad.

It's going to be difficult to send Quine back down.

Honestly thought we were pretty bad after the 1st, lots of sloppy turnovers and not skating. Second half of a back to back it's pretty excusable though. Quine has been an excellent addition to the bottom 6, if he keeps it up he could be a regular on the 4th line. Backlund is so subtly good when he's in the lineup that it's easy to take him for granted, but he completely changes that second line. Outside of Gaudreau, nobody can carry the puck through the neutral zone like Backlund.

Put in Iggy as a third associate coach for the playoff run and have him and the eliminator behind the bench for a tbl-cgy rematch. With blessed Conroy watching from above.
