It's in Rittich's best interest to ask for 1 or 2 years and hope he can stay healthy and prove he's a true #1 to hit the pay load.

How can anyone make this claim based on an extremely small sample size? Jumping to conclusions like this leads to Koskinen type mistakes.

2 years $2-$2.5m/year seems about right to me. That Koskinen contract is dumb and any agent that tries bringing that up should be laughed at and hung up on. I can’t seeing that holding any weight here.

I agree that 2 years at $2M per is fair for both sides, and could be a decent contract for the Flames. Gets BSD back in the seat to try and prove he's a starter and then he can get paid.
The injury was very unfortunate for him as, if he continued the way he was going, he was going to get more than $2M this off-season. I could see him wanting a 1 year deal but I hope the Flames don't go for that.
