Icon24 Sadly (for me), Chicago is also No Good.

On the eve of the modified 2021 season, the Chicago lines/pairings look like this:

DeBrincat - Strome - Kane (the only D that this line will execute, is in the name of the LW)
Janmark - Wallmark - Shaw (a 4th line playing in the top six)
Kubalik - Suter - Pirri (Kubalik will move up, but, Pirri has already failed once in Chi)
Highmore - Kampf - Carpenter (and an appropriate 4th line)

Keith - Murphy (Murphy belongs nowhere near a top pairing)
Zadorov-Boqvist (Disipline will be a problem here)
de Haan - Mitchell (I expect Keith to get every 3rd shift with deHaan until he finally breaks down)
Beaudin - Carlsson (a lot of time in the press box here, waiting for a trip back to the Rock, when Seabrook is fit)

(and a goaltending corps that strikes fear! (in the hearts of 'Hawk fans!))
Subban
Delia
Lankinen

I feel sympathy for the goalie rotation, a wretched defense that will not be helped by the top forwards, will mean the goaltenders will be under siege.

It's going to be a loooong shortened season for 'Hawk fans.

Chicago Sun-Times is reporting Seabs as "unfit" to begin. He did have a shoulder surgery in the off season.

Carl Soderberg will reinforce the lineup, if, and when he straightens out his immigration difficulties.

oof...that lineup is all sorts of ugly.

Take comfort in the fact that all teams go through a cycle like this. The Flames in 2013 were pretty hard to watch most nights. Lots of absolute junk in the lineup. Just take the small victories where you can, such as "the team played hard tonight and kept it close". There are a few pieces to build around, but truthfully, you'll need to find some takers for Kane and Keith while they still have value.

I'd say "best of luck", but the Hawks continuously caved in the Flames' heads over their peak years, and I'm still a little bitter about that 1st round playoff loss when the Flames were at their height in 08/09. That was a pretty good team that ran straight into the Hawks on the upswing. The Flames had just traded for Jokinen and he came in blisteringly hot at almost a point per game. They also had prime Iginla, Phaneuf, Regehr and Kipper, but also Langkow, Cammalleri (a point per game player that year), Conroy, Bourque, Glencross, Bertuzzi, Gio, Aucion, Sarich etc. They could have gone on a run that year IMO.

I guess what I'm saying is that it's time for you to take your lumps. Enjoy!

Yeah, not good. Weak down the middle. Weak on D. Weak in net. Krikey.

At least it's happening in what is sure to be a weird year for all the teams. Who knows? Might be a fun squad to cheer for as the season progresses.

Losing Dach doesn’t help. And why is Kubalik on the 3rd line? Really curious to see what Suter looks like, he really ripped it up in Europe.

If you’re going to have a bad team you might as well go all the way and get one of those top picks. That defense.....yikes.

Chicago is the type of team that wins lotteries. Like LA and NY, I wouldn’t be surprised to see things move quickly.

That is a woof lineup. But that's the price you pay for 3 Cups and a mini-dynasty. Sell you soul to the devil for ultimate glory and then cry for a decade after.

Hoping and praying the good Lord finds a way for us to fit Kane in the lineup alongside Gaudreau.

Foss, banners fly forever. If the Flames win 3 cups in 10 years I'll take the tough times that come later. Enjoy a few beers this season and remember the good times.

Well if Ur going to suffer thru a rough year, and hopefully build up your prospect pool thanks to high picks, best to do it in a shortened year.
