Frankly I think pretty much all of Stellantis's European products would be DOA in North America. Would you pay $65,000+ for a Peugeot 508 SW PSE? Few would. They don't have the cachet to command those prices, and they can't make money if they don't sell 'em for those prices.
Alfa Romeo, Maserati and Fiat are at the very bottom of the sales charts, averaging less than 100 units sold per month in Canada, combined. I wouldn't give Peugeot, Citroen, Opel or Vauxhall any better a chance.

What the hell happened to Fiat? In 2014 they sold just over 8000 vehicles in Canada and this last year it is just over 200. I'm assuming it is because they didn't keep up with the market trend of producing SUVs and trucks.

I looked into those when I was shopping for a commuter car. Apparently they’re just junk, falling apart after no time at all.

I wouldn't buy the 508 PSE but as he said in the video there are models that are more reasonable.
I agree they wouldn't have any better chance at breaking through than FIAT did. They would have to be more like Hyundai/KIA and overdeliver for the price, and we know that isn't happening. I can still dream of a nice-looking, reasonably priced wagon, can't i?

I really hope the European Ford Mondeo/Fusion wagon comes to North America. I think it is supposed to be coming which will be awesome. I'm a wagon guy and currently have a Fusion Hybrid so I would be happy to trade up to that. I'm not overly thrilled that it supposed to be a lifted wagon but at least it isn't another SUV.

For sure, don't let me or anyone else on your dreams. Don't get me wrong I think the Peugeot 508 is a very attractive car, I thought the 406 Coupé may be the prettiest front-wheel-drive car ever made, and I have a deep respect and affinity for older Citroens. I'd love to experience a DS at least once in my life.
Know what a great wagon was that nobody will agree with me on? The Dodge Manum. I hoped that wagon was going to bring wagons back to the mainstream. It was roomy, had many option choices including fast Hemi models, and was super affordable.

The magnum was sweet. The RT was a hot commodity for a bit there. Too bad it was a dodge, and all but the really well kept examples look like they haven’t been cared for much.

Did you ever drive one? I had one as a rental, and it was a miserable POS. It had blind spots everywhere, and you could barely see out the slit of a window at the back. I hated that thing.
This is exactly why North America doesn't get wagons. Nobody actually likes them (even though they say they do). The Magnum is what an affordable wagon is. Yeah, I've driven one. Mushy feeling, but still better than every single crossover ever. Throw snowboards and gear in the back like nothing. Seat four adults in total comfort. Cruise down the highway comfortably with that soft suspension. Mega cheap to buy. It's not an E-Class; it's a wagon almost anyone of us could get into brand new. At the end of the day it's a Dodge, but if the other automakers made a comparable car you'd have wicked wagons out there. Dodge proved there isn't a market, though. People rather have a Nissan Rogue or a Toyota Highlander than a wagon.
Wagons have seem to become a niche anti-CUV lifestyle statement these days, as pretty much all of them are expensive luxury brands (apart from the Golf SportWagen and a couple of lifted Subarus which seem to move away from the wagon format more and more with every new generation).
I wish Buick had sold the TourX here, that seemed liked a pretty good large wagon that was relatively affordable. Strangely enough they decided to sell it in the US...where it of course bombed. Perhaps it wouldn't have done great here either, but I could see it being more successful than in the US.

I absolutely loved driving the Camry wagon. I'd buy one in a heartbeat if they ever sold them here. If VW made the GTI/R in a wagon I would have gone that route. I even liked driving the mid-late 90's Taurus wagons.
The base Magnum was a complete and utter pig, with absolutely horrendous visibility issues. The only thing Dodge "proved" is that they're a ####ty car manufacturer, outside of their higher end lines.
