Same with John Tavares, I bet he wished he would have stayed with the Islanders now too.
Toronto is also No Good!

Eberle beget Ryan Strome
Ryan Strome beget Ryan Spooner
Ryan Spooner beget Sam Gagner
Sam Gagner beget nothing

It's like the reverse of that dude who started with a paper clip and kept trading until he had a house.

He really, really must've been jealous over the years, thinking about the success of so many ex-Oilers. Now I imagine excitement has taken over.

He's still pretty young, and I imagine a few other teams of much nicer cities(every team) with much more success(every team) are also looking at ex-Oiler success, and will pay him very well.

Too bad he has to take that hometown discount.

To stay in Edmonton.

Its hilarious that Oiler fans think they are going to improve on Barrie and RNH for less money

The improvement on Barrie will obviously happen internally. Wasn't it Staples, or Stauffer, who said that Bouchard is already better than Barrie?

Such an embarrassment of riches the Oilers have. I mean, they had the luxury of scratching James Neal for half a season.

If you look at the numbers over the last 2 years. Mcdavid numbers are better playing with nuge than Leon and nuge numbers are better playing with neither of of the other 2 than Leonís numbers are when he is away from nuge and mcdavid

Mcdavids numbers are the only ones that donít change dramatically whether he plays with nuge or Leon or neither. Leon has got double the ice with mcdavid over the last 2 years. Leon and mcdavid score way more playing together but they also get scored on way more too.

IMO nuge does get carried but mcdavid and maybe someone that has never played with mcdavid can come in for cheap and out perform him. But there still is the issue that nobody wants to move to Edmonton and Leonís number suggest he is the most overrated player in the league

Great news this morning for the oilies! They have 2/3 chance to win the real Oilers Stanley Cup, the Hart trophy for individual accomplishments.

There is no award that more accurately encapsulates the “me first” attitude of the Oilers organization and their on ice team.

What ineptitude abounds in “the organization that knows how to lose” than having an ineffectual team but two players out of three who are deemed most valuable in the league.

Individual success over team success. That’s the real Stanley cup!

Edmonton Oiler UFA Joakim Nygard signs six year deal in Sweden.
Edmonton Oiler UFA Gaetan Haas signs five year deal in Switzerland.

Before NHL free agency even opens. They couldn't get out of North America fast enough.

Chiasson? Ennis? Kulikov? KoekKoek?

RIP NHL dream. Oilers put such a bad taste in his mouth that he signed a long enough Euro deal to guarantee he never comes back.

Well that just means he never made a legitimate NHL roster. So probably doesn't make much difference to him anyway.

So traumatized that they don't even want to play against the Oilers or the Oilers affiliates.

Move over Martina Hingis, Haas is the Oilers Swiss (swing and a) Miss.

The delicious thing about Haas is that the Oilers will still be taking a cap hit of $106k for Haas while he’s back eating fondue and eying Tag Heuers.

That’s because of the even more delicious $212k bonus Haas got from the Oilers in the 2020 season for being top 3 in Oilers +/-, with a scintillating -6.

The Oilers had to split that along with the other bonuses they had to payout, over this past season and next, to be cap compliant.

Especially when you've got "the two best players in the world" on your roster.
