I suspect Florida in 6 if their goaltending holds up.

People are out to lunch if they they this isn't a good match up for Florida. Boston played better defense and are more physical and even they were rattled by Florida's physicality and forecheck. It's was an absolute bloodbath against them the entire series.

Can't wait to see Bennett et al. run over some of their skill guys like Skej or Ghost. Lets see how well they move the puck after that!

Yeah, Boston was supposed to be the most lopsided 4-0 sweep of all time. Toronto’s superior goaltending and puck movement was supposed to be no match for them. Now there are new excuses as to why Carolina is going to run over them. Seems foolish to count out Florida again.

Carolina has been taken to OT 3 times against 2 worse teams and got beat up 8-4. Plenty of cracks in that armour for Tkachuk and Bennett to blow up. Carolina is going to scramble.

Boston had 3 major injuries to start the series that played a factor let's not discount that.

Carolina plays similar to tie Flames with the exception they are more involved offensively.

I don’t think Boston played better defence.

No, not after Bennett came in game 2 and started running people over. Everyone on that team was turning the puck over because of the forecheck, it was one common theme in that series and this the Toronto one. Boston also was a machine defensively in the regular season, better than Carolina.

If you compare that to the shinny hockey that the Devils played against Carolina, it's going to look totally different.

Interesting the two teams the Flames made their biggest blockbuster trades in the last 5 years are meeting in the conference finals.

This Panthers run is really showing us a potential what if with Bennett and Tkachuk who were 2 of my favorite players when they played here. The Tkachuk trade alone should win Zito GM of the year and everything he said about making that move to make them a better playoff team has come true.

With that said I will always have a soft spot for the Hurricanes for beating the Oil in 06. I also prefer our blockbuster trade with them to the one with Florida so I will be rooting for them. I think this is a toss up 7 games.

Carolina was also the confirmed runner up for Tkachuk and had a more futures based deal on the table.

Florida is not invincible

How long can Bennett and Tkachuk go with the kind of game they are playing. This is further than they have ever been before

Bob has been good but Bob is flaky. Their defense is mediocre.

Exactly why closing out Toronto in Game 5 was so important (and huge).

I think this is a great thing for the NHL to have regional rivals in the conference final. I realize they are still like 800 miles apart, but I consider them both in the Southeast.

I also like that Florida's 1st now becomes the 29th OA pick. Makes me feel a little better about the Monahan trade.

Lol at all the perfect brackets in here

Hockey is a hell of a game...Boston had 10+ 10 bell chances to eliminate the Panthers in 5 games, those short series predictions weren't out to lunch Boston outshot them 50-25 and Bob stole it or it would have gone exactly how people thought.

Carolina will win the series in 6 IMO, come at me

Carolina scored 24 goals in 5 games vs the Devils.

Devils finished higher than the Leafs why are they worse?

How does that relate to the Monahan trade?
