imagine how good the Niners could be if they had just drafted BPA every year instead of trading all those 1sts for Lance. With such a QB-friendly system, they really didn't need to sell the farm.

Darnold did the same to start last year before falling apart. The thing about Darnold, and QBs like him, is if you can keep these guys playing from ahead and not ask them to do much, you can win games with them. As much fun as Brock Purdy's run has been, he's had exactly one drive during his run where the 49ers weren't ahead, and only attempted four passes when behind since becoming starter. A lot of guys can look like serviceable QBs when they never have to make anything happen from a trailing position.

I didn't see the game today because I was on the beach but Darnold's stat line looked good today. Still lost though.

I suppose it was always kinda naive to think the NFL would care about fairness when it would have a choice between putting one of the biggest national teams on SNF next week in a win and in situation, and not the Jags and Titans.

I mean there are probably some pretty ugly numbers in the years after the advent of the forward pass, so probably not. But if we're even going there...yeah. Ravens refusal to invest in skill position players is pretty appalling.

Well today's results have actually opened up a scenario where the Jags can lose and still make the playoffs. So now it makes even more sense to not have that game as the SNF game because it could be irrelevant by kickoff.

Chiefs at Raiders is early Saturday game and the Jags vs Titans is the late one

Chiefs likely playing for a chance at the top seed. I expect the league to influence that game so the Bill's have to try on Sunday....which also means bet big on the Bills tomorrow...league doesn't want them in a position where a win only gets them the two seed.
