Man Gaudreau gets underrated these days. Behind Connor and Boeser? Really? Call me when those guys get Hart votes.

Bryan Rust also shouldn't be anywhere near team USA.

I wouldn't take the lines, especially 1-3 as indication of how they rank players. In some cases they might just have their own idea of what might be a natural fit for lines. Being on the roster means you're pretty well among elite company.

I certainly imagine at that point Gaudreau will have an edge on an aging Pat Kane, even.

I expect we'll have 3+ players on team Sweden.

4 Calgary-born players on Canada's roster would be pretty interesting.

Some of you are living in the past. Johnny has majorly regressed over more than a calendar year now, whatever happened in Feb 2019 was bad. If current trajectories keep up, Johnny might not even make this team. Would you put Jonathan marchessault on the Canadian squad?

Johnny needs a wakeup call. You can't act like a hart contender when you play very mediocre for a whole year. People notice.

Player a: 70 18 40 58 -- .83ppg
Player B: 71 38 35 73 -- 1.03ppg
Player C: 57 16 29 45 -- .79ppg

When Johnny really only brings point scoring to a roster (let's be honest here) then it is tough to justify taking him when his point production is at the same level as more complete players.

Johnny has been very mediocre since Feb 2019. Looked like he might have found a bit of hid groove in the ~7 games before this situation occurred, but not good enough. Boy better be hitting the gym hard if he wants to bring his superstar status back. Never going to be an EA cover boy at this rate.

I love me some Johnny hockey but no chance he would have an edge over Kane.

Right now? Sure, especially since Canada's defence is actually pretty thin compared to their forwards. In 2022? I'm not so sure about that.

Yeah I think in two years he'll still get points but his +/- will be brutal. Kris Letang, Shea Theodore or Aaron Ekblad probably make it over him

Quinn Hughes looked great, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a sophomore slump. I fully expect his brother Jack to improve and he'll be on the Olympic team, he's going to be one of the best players in the league within a few years IMO

Give me B. Tkachuk, Debrincat or even Palmieri over anyone on that 4th line

It's hard to know what ex-NHLers will be playing in Europe come 2022 but I dont think most of these guys will be.

That American roster looks like a hell of a tough team actually. Canada's top line in particular would be deadly on international ice, but that US team would be a hell of a tough bit of competition.

For sure , he may run out of gas by 2022.

However, one of the 2 or 3 best D in the last two decades,
