Many Canadian fans vastly overrate how good Miller and Waterman are. MLS is the right level for them. If they eventually do try their luck in Europe, it will be in leagues that are at a lower level than what the Twitterverse keeps thinking.

Great move but RWB is not the position for him IMO. He is quick enough to cover but doesn't tackle particularly well and he is so explosive going forward, is a waste sticking him back there IMO
In the soap opera of the CSA, the Feds are finally properly considering the financial audit of the CSA. Shame it would only go back probably to the CSB deal.
Also, as the CSA prepares to vote for a new president, the NT's have sent letter to associations basically not to vote for Crooks because it will be more of the backroom dealing, lack of transparency BS that's gone on for decades.
Provincial presidents have votes.
Also who have votes are Canadian pro teams...and guess which teams got a recent amendment for more votes in the election? The CSB owned-CPL teams, so they can now swing the election. The garbage continues.
They are saying all the right things as you'd expect and will comply with audit. Like most of these things the blame will get put on the past executive and processes before that "won't happen again, we promise".
That said, given DeVos and Crooks and most of the existing board were both around the CSA pre-CSB deal, they can't wipe hands totally clear of any responsibility or knowledge of the CSB deal, but also the way (and DeVos played) on how the CSA runs their operations.
Predictively, there will be some repirations made to the way CSA conducts buisness, apologies made for past sins from the past years (should be decades) and then CSB will wait for a favourable time to puff our their chest and announce tweaks to the deal with the CSA...all in hope of getting Feds off their back, getting the players off their back, and getting Rick Westhead off their back...by putting out the fires that Bontis and crew ( whom just followed in the shady dealings of the CSA executive the last 40+ years)! started and couldn't keep under control when Canadian soccer got into an unfamiliar spotlight of popularity 18 months ago.
As the one MP the article stated, the CSA handled abuse situations worse, and were more incompetent running their organization, than the much higher profile Hockey Canada situation.
I mean, if you are a proponent of ethnic nationalism, which I personally think is tribal and illogical, he is actually of Liberian origin. I don't know if he has much connection to Ghana other than being born and temporarily living in the refugee camp there.
That's kind of ironic that you would think me criticizing ethnic nationalism is racist if that's what you were doing, as I think that ethnonationalism is actually the cause of most of the racism that occurred during the colonial period (and just in general) and even a lot of genocides that have occurred in the past.

The Athletic is linking Jonathan David to Real to replace Benzema:
Quote:
Madrid signed Benzema as a 20-year-old from Lyon of France’s Ligue 1 in 2009, after scoring 20 and 17 in his final two seasons. The Canada striker is in a comparable position in the same league right now.
Quote:
His ability to combine with forwards and advanced midfielders, particularly in making attacking rotations, back-to-goal hold-up play and one-twos in wide areas would be particularly invaluable for Madrid duo Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo, who often play fluidly and end up in the same part of the pitch to break down defences.
Twelve years Benzema’s junior, David’s Smarterscout profile outlines a young striker who would be very capable of growing into his predecessor’s role if he went to the Bernabeu.
Now that would be pretty darn exciting for Canada fans.
