All I can get

Let's talk Waffle Irons
In the spirit of the rice cooker thread and staying on the countertop, I have the cheap Black + Decker and I hate it.
The waffles never seem to hold together and crumbs and batter seep down into the little crevasses around the edges. A real PITA to clean. I don't think it gets hot enough to really crisp up the waffles.
I don't make waffles very often, but every once in a while on a lazy Sunday I like to do the brunch "Grand Slam" thing.

Looking for a better brand.

I have this Cuisinart waffle maker. It's pretty huge so I don't keep it on the counter but it works perfectly.

I also endorse that waffle maker. Works well even if it is a bit cumbersome.
Thing with waffles, it’s about the mix as much as the maker. Gotta get that crispy outside and light fluffy inside just right. And to do that the maker needs the right thickness for each waffle.

My kids love waffles and I really enjoy making chaffles.
We got a Dash waffle maker from Amazon. Literally no complaints!

I will point out waffle makers are easily and cheaply available on Craigslist, its a classic bit of 'sits in a cupboard gathering dust and then gets sold' item

Right thickness and quality non-stick (i.e. not cheap Chinese knock-off). I agree the mix is important too, if you want fluffy you need to separate the eggs and beat the whites. Also don't under-cook, you need to get the crispy outside.
That model looks like it would take up a lot of space, but really I think any high quality belgian waffle maker would work, doesn't need any fancy features. Don't get one of the multi-grill things where you change out the plates.

I use my Mickey waffle maker all the time. We have the Cuisinart one linked up thread as well, it lives in a box in the basement. The Mickey one makes comparable waffles - they come out crispy, good non-stock surface, enough space to develop moist insides. Plus they're shaped like Mickey Mouse!
We have this one: https://www.amazon.ca/Mickey-Mouse-W...95668220&psc=1
Although that price is absurd, we got it at Walmart for like $40

I bought this one - or at least a prior version - a decade ago. Still working. I make waffles about once a month
Edit: same model name as on my box, so maybe they haven't changed it.

I think the key is get one that makes enough waffles for whoever is going to eat at once. I had a single iron and it was always a pain doing multiple batches while people ate. Going to a double got everyone a half waffle to start which worked.

My face is a bum!

Is there any decent ones out there that aren't Teflon? Teflon kind of freaks me out. I've been trying to phase it out (for whatever the newer things are that we'll later find out kill us), and the waffle iron is a holdout thus far.

WAFFLE BOWLS!
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Stack one on another, it looks like a death star. I don't do waffles often, but when I do, the bowl shape is an extra special treat. Great shape to retain juices if you're doing duck confit, a fruit compote/sauce or just syrup dripping.
You can double or triple toast to be more crispy, or be hard enough to be a waffle bowl for ice cream.
Price is high on Amazon. I'd aim for around $45-50.
