My new doctor is really amazing and I don't think a lot of older doctors would talk about intermittent fasting. So I guess what makes me happy is that I finally got a family doctor in Calgary, and he's a younger guy who's not married to old ideas about nutrition.
Are you doing the 16/8?

Due to my shift work I have a hierarchy of rules that I follow as it's impossible to do a steady specific approach

1 fast 18 hours 5 days a week
2 keep calories under 2000, ideally 1600
3 net carbs below 100, ideally under 60

If I do 1 I'm satisfied. 1 and 2 I'm laughing. All 3 and I'm shedding over a pound a day.

Had one of the best weekends, hell... even days, in years in Kelowna over the weekend...
Put a few things in perspective for me.

Good for you. I’m on day 3 of a 4 day fast. I tend to switch it up. Sometimes I’ll do a 4 hour window, sometimes 1 meal a day. Often, I take the Jimmy Kimmel approach. He fasts Mondays and Thursdays. For me, taking a full 24 hrs to 36 hrs off eating fits best.
Word of warning, don’t go in the Burger thread if you are taking a break from food. BC-Chris just posted photos of grilled, stuffed cheeseburgers that had me licking my computer monitor.

Today is milf day...money in lawyer's fund day. 5 years ago I provided a one year loan to someone for a house purchase and then they promptly died, willed the house to her kid, who then died. Then the long lost father gained possession and he immediately fell off the roof and hasn't remembered anything since. Then his sister had poa for a while but ended up going to jail for fraud. Then a legal trust owned it. Finally. Finally someone had the bright idea to sell the place instead of foreclosing. I will be walking very carefully to the lawyer's office tomorrow.

No lie...another borrower had a horrific car accident last year and barely survived. I had a borrower a few years ago mail me the keys never to be heard from again. But two others are still ok at this point. I'm transfering everything to a MIC so that the bad juju gets watered down a bit.

In Kelowna, man fell off his wheelchair going thru a crosswalk right next to highway 97. 3 or 4 people immediately turned on their hazards and jumped out to help him even tho their light had just turned green. Held up traffic for several minutes. No one honked or flipped out. I was on the other side of the road so I couldn’t be much help, plus they all got out so quickly. It was heartwarming to watch humans being bros like that.
