I like it. Looks cool and fun. Better than every other SUV that's a carbon copy of every other SUV.

I think the 4Runner looks way cooler.

Yeah, the 4Runner definitely looks cool. Most SUVs don't, though. Tuscon, Sante Fe, Pathfinder, Qashqai, Kona, CR-V, Forester, all Infiniti SUVs, etc. Lame jelly beans that are so anonymous and boring.

I think Chrysler makes some nice looking ones, although I wouldn't buy a new one. Used with low kms can be a bargain. Upper trims on the Grand Cherokee and Durango are fast as balls and look good, too.

I also love the new Navigator. That thing is sick.

I keep going back and forth. On one had it looks very plastic-fantastic...but in some versions, the 110 with the white roof, white steelies and some accessories, has some promise. Not a fan of the front though.

I'd be a lot more on board if they kept the underlying platform more utilitarian like a Wranger. Or if it was a Toyota.

If you’re looking to get an SUV because they’re “safer”, check this out;

It’s shocking that a company known for quality like Toyota can release a vehicle that handles so poorly, especially when the Qashqai does so well.

I know people who buy RAV4’s aren’t super interested in handling ability but it should be able to perform an evasive maneuver in an emergency. But, as someone on Reddit said, the typical RAV4 owner would plow right into the moose anyway.

^ This sent me down the rabbit hole on moose tests. Here's a pretty thorough list. The top performer all time is kind of awesome, a 1999 Citroën Xantia Activa:

Been watching some videos on the Frankfurt Motor Show and just saw the most ridiculous interior I've ever seen.

Introducing the Byton M-Byte.

Spoiler!

Apparently this is the production model.

Unless they have an ultra super dim night mode, that would drive me insane at night time. Not to mention the obvious distraction. But where do you plug in your X-Box?

I'd rather flip a Rav than drive a Qashqai.

Depends where you drive.

I’d see them often as a kid, and a ton when we’d work in northern Alberta and BC. But I will admit it was bizarre seeing two of them trying to cross QEII north of Carstairs a couple of winters ago.

Replace moose with a struggler who stops suddenly for no reason and I see them all the time. I really think we discount accident avoidance in favour of accident survivability these days.

Seriously? A minimum of monthly. My daily commute even has a moose warning sign.

Last summer there was actually one on the off-ramp of 12 Mile Coulee to Crowchild. And in the wrong direction I might add.

I mean I have seen moose before, but driving? I don't think I have seen one in 15 years. I have hit a deer in that time though..

That misconception is part of the problem. Quality doesn't mean good handling or performance. It just means stuff doesn't break as often based on surveys, which can be a byproduct of owner conditioning by the dealer's service department more than the vehicles themselves.

I recall getting to test a few mid-size sedans in an emergency maneuver situation on a track circa 2004, during the height of Toyota's reputation as the most reliable, well-built brand on the planet. The only vehicle whose power-assist steering cut out during the emergency maneuver situation? The Toyota Camry. It simply couldn't keep up, and you would get a sudden and total loss of power assist. In the real world, this translates to swerving to miss the moose, missing it, but having the power steering cut out as you were trying to return to your lane and avoid hitting oncoming traffic or plowing into a ditch.

Anyone know an Asian fellow named Toby who does remote starters? If so, please PM me. I’ve used him in the past, but I’ll be damned if I can remember his company name or contact info.
Thanks.

This is a huge shot in the dark because I don't recall the guy's name, nor have I used him, but there's an installer at Visions south that seems to be highly recommended on Beyond... Worth a shot?

Does anyone have recommendations for a Japenese mechanic in the SW/SE (hopefully somewhere close to McLoed)? I am hoping to find the equivalent to Tunedub for my Infiniti.

Thanks, but this guy worked for himself.
