Exciting prospects from the last 3 drafts:
Pelletier - Zary - Coronato
Beck - Kerins
(hon mention: Stromgren, Nikolaev, Ciona)
Kuznetsov - Poirier
(hon mention: Whynot - Jordan)
Wolf
Sergeev
(hm: Chechelev)
There's only so much room on the bus

I'd like to be, but not very excited about Poirier or Kuznetzov
19 year old offensive Dman who back-slid on offensive production this season and was below a point per game.
20 year old Dman who hasn't produced offense worth noting anywhere and only managed half a point per game in junior. Also missed a ton of games, and lack of playing time is also not good for development. I mean, a 20 year old former 2nd round pick who played college hockey should have been cleaning up against mostly 17-19 year old junior kids.
Hopefully I'm wrong, but I don't see much there purely from a statistical stand point.

Kuznetzov turned 20 three months ago, for the purposes of listing season with age 2021-2002 season he was 19. He wasn't an overaged player or anything. Poirier turns 20 tomorrow.

Poirier's skating and stickhandling alone make him a promising prospect-he just has to learn certain aspects of the game. His decreased production this year was a result of being amongst a stacked defense group in Saint John. Same could be said for Francis-he was stuck on the second line with plugs until he got linemates at the trade deadline.

Was at the game tonight. Ciona is playing down the lineup, but is an aggressive passer. He’s trying to spot the cross ice guy, not just simple short passes. Very chippy as well. I would expect him to put up some solid production next year once he’s on the top line.

Saint John is hosting the Memorial Cup, so we will still get to see our Sea Dogs boys play in that tourney.

Saint John will be interesting in the Memorial Cup. They fired their coach after the playoffs and have brought in the University of New Brunswick coach. He is only coaching the Memorial Cup and then going back to UNB. Basically a rental coach.
UNB has been a university hockey power for a long while though.

What a strange situation…..
The coach was former tough guy journeyman Gord Dwyer. I assume the assistant coaches were fired as well? One of them was former Flame Jeff Cowan.

Kuz with the assist,+2, and 5 shots. Poirier had no points,+2, and 2 shots.
Francis was not signed by the Flames, so no point in posting his stats, but he was +1 with 3 shots.

I'm interested in what Francis does so thanks for posting.
I can't see him getting drafted again, and it'll be interesting to see where he goes after that. Most likely an AHL deal somewhere, and whom knows maybe it'll be with the Calgary Heat. I doubt their relationship soured because an ELC wasn't offered.
