Yup, best of luck Micheal. Loved your play, especially against Vancouver and how you messed with Bieksa's head.

Best of luck Ferland. I will be interested to see if the production we saw this year was a function of solely playing with the top line.

One’s perception of Ferland pretty much determines who you think won the trade.

I've been a Flames fan for 30+ years and Ferland's 2015 thrashing of the Canucks is one of the most entertaining Flames play-off performances that I have witnessed. Good luck Ferkland!

One of my all time favourite Flames for sure. Will be hoping to bring him back as a UFA if it makes sense next season.

You could tell he was never the player to give up on his team. Pure tenacity and heart by Ferland and I wish him the best of luck in Carolina.

Go get 30 Ferdaddy!

He will make a great deadline acquisition for the Flames cup run in 2019!

Well this answers my question on Tkachuk or Ferland on my next jersey order. Not the way I wanted that problem solved though.

Thanks Ferland. We all figured something like this was coming but that doesn't make it better. Best of luck in Carolina, I hope the family likes it there. Please don't sign with Edmonton next summer!

Of the 3 assets traded today, I will miss Ferland the most.

Also, very well spoken and respectful - easy young man to like and root for. Best of luck to you!

Looks like all of that line will be gone next season.

RIP Ferland - Stajan - Jones, you were a great tandem for that playoff.

Ferland will be missed. Gave the dome some great moments!
Missed his physicality this season but he had a benchmark year.
Ferly Battled through his off ice demons and won. Grats really took this kid under his wing & its too bad he was traded away today.

He turned out to be a pretty good 5th round pick for the organization. Had some talent but I'm not sure if he's ever one of those guys that will be able to put it all together and be a consistent player but he had his moments especially his first playoff series against the Canucks. TSN didn't even mention his name when discussing the trade which I though was a bit of a slight as he's a little more than a throw in.

I've never seen a player take over a playoff series like that before or since. Total throwback to the prototypical power forward, mean, heavy, great hands, great shot. Will miss Ferland a lot, I hope he blossoms in Carolina - and I hope even more he ends up back here somehow.

Easily one of my favourite players, period. Great story, great heart, had some incredible moments that gave him “hero” status (if only for a round, but sometimes that’s all it takes against a big rival), and just a player i’ll be rooting for regardless of what jersey he has on.

Except Edmonton... don’t ever do that to us Mike, don’t ever even think about it.

I really hate to see Ferland go. I think he's going to continue to improve and really be that old school power forward. I wish we could've added a top 6 forward and kept Ferland but played him further down the line up.

He was good on the top line - really showing his skills albeit inconsistently. But his value to a team is at it's peak when he's not relied on to score (being on the top line - even though he can play there).

In his two playoffs years with CGY the VAN series showed what a weapon he can be and what an impact his full array of skills make. Playing on the top line that is relied on to produce offensively negated that physical, intimidating presence that is needed in the playoffs.

Wish him the best and hope we see him down the road.

If Ferland had been able to play like he did against the Canucks more often than not, he would have not been traded and would be a borderline star but sadly he couldn't maintain that.

Having said that, I'm a fan. I wish him the best and I hope that a trade doesn't send him into some sort of spiral ala Theoren Fleury. For some odd reason that was my first thought when I heard of the trade.
