Not just the ladies. I remember Don Cherry had a segment or two about Matt that got kinda weird. Kept comparing him to Richard Gere.

I'm surprised that former whipping boy, Matt Stajan is winning. I was never as down on him as some were but still I voted Lombardi. He's one of those rare players who could get me out of my seat while watching on TV.

The penalty shot goal by Stajan is a great Flames memory.

Don Cherry wears flower-pattern blazers, silk carafes, has a thing for army guys, and kissed Doug Gilmour. A video clip of which he shows several times every season.
I'm not sayin, I'm just sayin.
He's never been afraid to "get a little weird" like that.

I always think Stajan gets much more flak than he deserves but went with Lombardi. I loved that threat potential on the PK. It's too bad his hands never kept up with his feet.

I miss watching Lombo blow by everyone on the ice and either score or trip over the blue line. Good times.

Stajan. He is a better all around player than Lombardi ever was.

Lombo for me. Yawney was dependable for a while.
Drury was here for too short a time, and though acquiring him signaled that the Flames were 'back' and trying to be competitive, you can't vote for a guy that was rumored to want out, and who was here for such a short time.
Stajan was a bit frustrating and whipping boy for the first 3 seasons. He has totally turned his game around, and I suspect that if we were to do this again he will win it by a landslide. Just needs a couple more years for me to vote him as the best here.
Lombo was a solid PK'er, and was a decent threat out there that was fun to watch with his speed. Wish his hands worked as fast as his feet, but I think he was the biggest contributor to the jersey thus far (though I do expect Stajan to surpass him soon).

Funny thing is that the only big difference between Stajan now and when he was a whipping boy is how he is being used by the coach. Stajan is also a solid penalty killer and not half as lazy as Lombardi was. Lombo had the wheels and because of that he should have been at least noticeable every night, but he was lazy at times and didn't use his speed nearly as often as he should have.

Matthew for the completely superficial fact he was nice to look at.

Didn't have time to vote on the weekend but I would've voted for Stajan. He's becoming a great veteran for the kids to look up to.

He wore 18 briefly during the regular season while he was here. I believe he had it when the trade first happened and then switched to 37 later in the year.
He also wore the "A" while here as well.
...call it a hunch how I would know that.

Considering Stajan's reputation in the first half of his time here, I can't believe he won one of these.
But then you look at his competition.. Although Lombo was so much fun to watch back in the mid 00s. Was one of my favourite players.

I may be wrong, but I believe he wore 37 first and then switched to 18 later in the year.
