I know that a lot of the people are really really happy with the election results thus far, I do think that people are underestimating how many difficult decisions are coming. Very very unpopular decisions and ones that a lot of candidates don't really campaign on.
I am always a little weary of super positive campaigns that don't touch on issues that need specific addressing, makes for good campaigns but questions that get asked afterwards. I guess that's politics.
I think your average Calgarian is forgetting why a lot of the incumbents and the current mayor moved aside, the decisions that are coming are not going to be fun for a lot of reasons but we will continue to build out great city!

He finally realized that his combative populist style doesn't win wide support. I'm guessing if he still has political aspirations that we start seeing a much more subdued centrist leaning style

I think most of candidates who are winning understand that. It's the "lower taxes, find efficiencies, same services" people who are losing.
