Got to see Shazam, I thought it was a bit of fun but was kind of disappointed overall. I'm not sure I'd even put it above Aquaman.. maybe about the same for different reasons.

I did the "paper" bit from Waterworld the other day with some friends and they just stared at me. Needless to say they are not around anymore. Waterworld rules!

You disowned friends (I'm assuming you didn't mean you killed them) because they didn't get a Waterworld reference? That's dedication.

Learned that my aunt got signed on for the Calgary production of the new Ghostbusters movie, which starts filming sometime in June. She usually works on westerns so I've never bugged her for any special access, but I told her if she got on the Ghostbusters production that I wanted special family treatment. Apparently this is a completely closed set, so no tours or behind-the-scenes access, but then she tells me "It shouldn't be hard to get you as a background extra though, then you can see everything"

You lucky bastard!

For the 40th anniversary of the Alien franchise, the studio has released six short films. The production value is solid. I've only watched one but new Alien content is appreciated.

Disney has announced we are getting two MCU films next year. People are speculating that it will be Black Widow and Eternals. So combined with the DCEU (BOP & WW84) that will be 3 out of 4 superhero movies based with female leads in 2020
Disney has announced we are getting two MCU films next year.
Plus, starting in 2021, it looks like we'll be getting 3 new MCU films each year -- one in mid-February, one in early May, and one in early November (2020 won't have the February film).
Additionally, Disney/Fox have once-again pushed back the release of The New Mutants. It was originally announced for April 2018, then it was pushed to August 2019, now it's set for April 2020. Many observers are expecting it to eventually get dropped onto Disney+ and forgotten about entirely.
They also cancelled all previously scheduled Fox/Marvel (X-Men) films that haven't yet begun production (including Gambit). This shouldn't really be a surprise since they've already said that the plan is to incorporate the X-Men and Fantastic 4 into the MCU going forward.
If The New Mutants does get pulled, that will make Dark Phoenix the final non-MCU X-Men film (again, to no one's surprise).
The third and final season of Legion is set to premiere at the end of June and will likely be the final non-MCU X-Men production to wrap-up. Fox had previously announced that The Gifted will not be returning for a third season.
Speaking of which, here's the new trailer for Legion...

It also looks like starting in 2021 Disney will be rotating Avatar and Star Wars releases in December. The first of the new Star Wars films is set to be released December 2022 the same day as Aquaman 2 Aquatic Fever. I wonder if WB will move that release date for Aquaman. Avatar which was supposed to be released next year will now be released 2021 which leaves an opening for December of next year. Kong vs Godzilla, Wonder Woman 84, Bond 25, Fast and Furious 9 and Mininons 2 are now all in the running for highest grossing movie next year.
