I think there was a significant budget cut when they moved production to Vancouver and switched from CBS to The CW for season 2. For some reason, their Martian CGI has always been bad. It's even worse when it's in the daytime because they can't hide the worst of it in the shadows.
----------
With their HBO Max announcements, I wonder if they're going to keep producing shows for DC Universe too? That seems a little much with stuff on DC Universe, The CW, and HBO Max, plus any other shows they make for other outlets like Pennyworth on Epix (whatever the hell Epix is).

I actually liked the new Hellboy. It's not perfect by any means, has horrible CGI, but it's super dark and I actually had a good time watching it. There is a scene with demons walking the earth and torturing people and it's so gruesome and a scene with a witch eating children and they show some gnarly stuff. What it suffers from is being over stuffed, this arc should have been split over 3 movies and it could have been an amazing trilogy. Also the humor was misplaced at times. Still prefer the original movies but I liked this. Have it as my least favorite CBM of the year but only because this year was the best ever for CBMs.
Here is my revised CBM rankings of 2019:
1)Joker
2)Shazam
3)Spider-Man FFH
4) End-Game
5) Alita
6) Teen Titans GO! vs Teen Titans
7) Batman vs TMNT
8) Captain Marvel
9) Dark Phoenix
10) Hellboy

Spiderverse is the best superhero movie to date. I can't think of any flaws.
You could say Dark Knight but I'd argue it's too long and the ending is mediocre. Infinity War is great but needs the other movies to prop the impact up.
As a stand alone superhero movie I can't think of a better one than Spiderverse.

Remember, remember the 5th of November.....
One of the best comic book movies ever made IMO. Sadly I don't think it gets the credit it deserves its kinda forgotten these days. Hard to believe its been 14 years since it was released.

I liked it, but I'm biased. I'd watch Natalie Portman fold towels for 90 minutes.

The interesting thing for me about V for Vendetta is how much different the movie is than the source material and yet I still really liked it.
V is much less of a psychopath and they changed many story elements, including adding a Hollywood ending, and yet it was so well done I wasn’t even mad. Hugo Weaving, John Hurt, Steven Fry, Stephen Rea were all excellent. And of course, bald Natalie Portman.

The Batman has rounded out the cast with Colin Farrell set to play Penguin and Andy Serkis set to play Alfred......they should have just switched it around IMO

Serkis is a better villain for sure and would have been perfect for Penguin.
Colin Farrell was the worst part of pretty bad Daredevil movie (the Director's Cut is decent). He's a solid actor though.

Its going to be interesting. As with any Batman movie there is always a lot of potential but it can go all pear-shaped on you pretty quickly.
Its an interesting cast. Not bad, but unconventional.

Anyone watch the latest Terminator movie? I might catch it on the plane someday, but the reviews make it out to be more or less the same as all the other terrible post-T2 movies.

I think Colin Farrell will be better than people think. Remember him in Horrible Bosses? Think that but evil.
Also, if it adapts Long Halloween it better be good. Some of the best Batman source material ever.

I disagree. It was an awful movie. Stephen Fry's character is just like a political statement. So bad.

Um. I'm going to go out on a limb here, but I think that was obviously and unashamedly the point.
That whole movie was political statement tropes showing methods that Totalitarian Regimes use to control their populace and trying to show that it could happen to any society under the right conditions with the right application of standard totalitarian techniques.

On a Politically Correct note, why are they appropriating a role to a dead guy that could go to a living actor?
