I agree - it was strangely appealing. It also scared me to realize just how much I knew about The Price is Right. I guess all those years of university have helped with something.
I haven’t really watched since Drew Carey took over, but that interview they showed with him on there really made me dislike him as the host - he really seemed to #### on the entire culture of the show and it’s die hard fans.
And, surprisingly, Bob Barker is apparently still alive.
I feel a bit conflicted. I like almost all of Dree Carey’s work, like on the Drew Carey Show and Whose Line Is it Anyway? But the whole The Prices Right gig just doesn’t suit him. He really comes off badly.
In other news, Netflix has become totally flaky on my AppleTv3 the last few days. Particularly storing out randomly. No problems with YouTube, so I don’t think it’s network related. Anybody else having problems with Netflix on the 3rd Gen Apple TVs?
Hes not a bad host, hes not a great host, but in all fairness, following up Bob Barker was a fool's errand so hopefully hes getting truckloads of cash.

did a search and the guesstimate is between 9 and 12 million per year.
I just watched "The Perfect Bid: The Contestant Who Knew Too Much" about the guy behind the perfect bid on the The Price is Right. That was surprisingly interesting.
There was a long-form blog post on this a few years back that was an incredible read. Really looking forward to watching this.
Price is Right and Matlock reruns. At least that's what I always remember watching back in the day.
I was just lamenting about when Netflix is going to buy the rights to a bunch of those old shows - Gilligan's Island, Matlock, 6 Million Dollar Man, Mary Tyler Moore Show, Diffrnt Strokes, etc. etc. Why hasn't Netflix jumped on this yet?
Oh Matlock.....you just knew that guy was up to no good. He just knew every criminal around.
I think he was responsible for most of the crime in Atlanta.
I witnessed a weird car accident that involved a stolen car when I was 18 and had to testify in court. I was just there to tell the court what I saw...or so I thought. The defense lawyer was a real-life version of Ben Matlock. He tore me to shreds on the witness stand. By the end I looked like a bumbling moron that didn't know anything. The guy got off. Still hate that show to this day.

The Six Million Dollar Man was one of my favourite shows when I was a kid. Who remembers the Bigfoot episodes?
