three former Eluveitie members created a new band a couple of years ago and have already released two albums now. Some really cool prog metal, sounds a bit like a mixture of Tool, Opeth and The Gathering.

This is going to make "Daddy works on the computer while daughter sits on his lap watching Youtube" time much more enjoyable

I was just thinking to myself I haven't listened to anything super, super, super heavy in a while, then the youtube algorithm hits me with this monster:

Jinjer is starting to grow on me. You sure they are here in July? Looks like they are overseas in July according to their schedule. They are playing at Dickens in Oct. 29th though.

Good lord that is freaking terrible. I like metal, but that is almost literally just noise, there's no melody. How is that classified as music?

I was thinking the opposite, that they're like a less heavy and more melodic Converge or Dillinger Escape Plan (which I honestly find unbearable outside of a few songs).

For me Jinjer was an acquired taste, I'm usually not into that style of metal at all. But Tatiana is such an incredible vocalist that they won me over, and now I can't stop listening to them. Plus she's easily one of the sexiest women in metal right now

And now I have a new favorite song, love the heavy Tool influence in this one

that transition from cleans to growls at around 3:50 is just unreal. She's super talented and the band is great as well.

New Rammstein album is bonkers. Probably their most well-rounded record, and represents a definite maturation of their sound/culmination of everything they've done up until now. Has everything from poppy Eurodance (Ausländer), to dark and demented black metal-ish vibes (Puppe). Overall it's not as dark and gloomy as some of their previous material, but it's fun to listen to and is still very much Rammstein.

I think it's underwhelming, to be honest. A couple of tracks are great ("Deutschland", "Radio", "Zeig dich" and especially "Puppe"), but I feel there's a lot of meh stuff on the album. A lot of songs feel like they've done the same thing a couple of times already, but better.

I dunno, I've gone through one pass on the album and I like it. Ausländer is my favourite so far I think.

There are a couple of growers on there that took a few listens to warm up to (Weit Weg's an example for me). Although there are a couple of great riffs on this album as there always are, Till and Flake really steal the show at points with the vocals and synths. The electronics had taken a bit of a step back for a few albums in a row, so I've been loving that the keyboards take a more prominent role this time around.

I agree with kermit on Ausländer. It's poppy (without being TOO cheesy) but is definitely one of the ones that burrows its way in to your head for hours at a time.

Diamond Head were awesome back in the day. The only original member left is the guitarist, but he's put together a really good band and I'm liking what I've heard from the new record.

Ausländer is already the 3rd video off the album as they aren't wasting any time recording videos. Honestly this song isn't resonating for me right now but maybe I need to listen to it a few more hours.
