I just finished reading 100 issues of Ultimate X-Men over the last month. Since subscribing, I've probably read 600-700 comics on it. Marvel Unlimited is a steal for the price you pay.
I might give the free trial a try, I usually only want to read popular arcs of the past (i.e. Civil War) rather than current stuff.. though I read an issue of Superior Iron Man and that looked pretty cool.

But certainty is an absurd one.
I think you'll like it then. They have a section of the app where they'll place story arcs in order. So you'll be able to read Civil War and all the spin off books as they were released.
So, OG Iceman that was pulled forward in time from the Silver Age was outed in the latest issue of All New X-Men. Interestingly, his sexual preference/orientation is probably the least difficult thing to understand about his character in the series, what with all the alternate timelines, space adventures, and time travel shenanigans.
I already have my tickets for Friday night to see the Avengers and I'm going to be at the comic shop for free comic book day and to start up on the "new" issues out.

Anyone else get out to Free Comic Book Day? I picked up four free issues (Secret Wars #0, All-New All-Different Avengers #1, and Hip-Hop Family Tree 3-in-1) and picked up issues #1-6 of Spider-Man and the X-Men.
At Alpha Comics there were artists (Chris Peterson and Nick Johnson) doing sketches. My buddy got cool sketches of The Comedian from Watchmen and Hellboy (hidden for size).
Spoiler!

It's my understanding that Avengers & New Avengers is the lead up to Secret Wars. It looks as though almost the complete run is up on Marvel Unlimited so I think I'll sign up for the free month and give it a shot.
As a separate note, I read through the first 11 issues of Thor: God of Thunder last week. I haven't ever read a Thor comic before but I picked up the first volume a few months ago based on it's high praise and wow. I thought it was a really interesting story and the art is incredible. King Thor is a total badass.
Yeah, I read the first arc of Thor: God of Thunder on Unlimited recently and it was quite good. I need to finish the rest of the series still.
And yeah, Jonathan Hickman is the author of the core Secret Wars mini and has been building to it for years. First in his runs on Fantastic Four and FF, then with his Avengers/New Avengers runs. As I said, I think there will be some payoff after a re-read when you can see the event as a whole and see early hints that weren't apparent on the first go round. Maybe.
Anyone interested in redemption codes for some digital issues of All New X-Men and Spider-Man and the X-Men? I should have codes for:
Uncanny X-Men Annual 1 and All New X-Men Annual 1 (complete 2 part story) Given away All New X-Men 34-37 (inclusive), 40 Given away Spider-Man and the X-Men 1-6 (complete series) Given away
Post here if you want them - (I think you need a Marvel.com account to redeem them?) - and I'll PM you the redemption code(s). I'd prefer to try and break the titles out to three individuals, but we'll see how it goes.
