My guess. And strictly a guess, but I suspect he was buried on the roster in Sweden.

Very interesting. He'll report to the Wranglers. Wonder if he's a regular next year.
The list of guys taken after Stromgren in the 2021 second round who are trending very well is long (Stankoven, Knies, Peart, Iorio, Moser, Raty, Kidney). Stromgren has a little bit of catching up to do but I'm encouraged that they've seen enough from him to bring him over to NA.

Passing on Stankoven looks to be a mistake but wishing Stromgren nothing but the best! Prove everyone wrong!

Big kid. Excellent skater.
Quote:
Strömgren is a winger with fast and powerful skating. Along with his great puck handling skills he can find creative solutions carrying the puck down the ice maneuvering through the defense. He is more of a shooter rather than a playmaker with a quick and accurate release but he also sees the ice very well to set up his teammates.

He was used in a pretty limited role in the WJC for Sweden but I thought he looked decently effective in the icetime he did get. A lot is riding on the development side of the organization now to bring him along.
Good luck to him and welcome to Calgary!

Fingers crossed. We need some of these 2nd/3rd rounders in recent years to start panning out.
Have to stop being that team that picked the next guy after the NHLer
(Hoping this isn't the case with Sillinger vs Coronato as well)

Looking at that 2021 Flames draft, I honestly hope they sign every player. There are a lot of potential diamonds in the rough.
Whynot
Huckins
Jordan
Beck
Ciona
Sergeev
Would it be really unusual for a team to sign 8/8 prospects from one draft class?
Also, kind of wondering about Sergeev. He just finished his first year in university, but was drafted the same year as Coronato. Would he be a flight risk if not signed this year?

Didn’t think he was all that bad at the WJCs despite limited production. Still showcased the size/speed combination that got him drafted. Not expecting massive upside but hopefully he’s a player. Should be a lot of open spots on the Wranglers next season.

Beck and Sergeev are two others that stand out from that draft class.
