It's all about the money. Supply and demand has nothing to do with it except demand is high and price gouging is occurring. Supply is also high, there should be minimal increase if any at all. Any increase is 100% Gouging. It's research driven and scientist tested.

What?
Demand goes up and price goes up.. As demand lessens price slowly returns down. How is that not Supply and Demand?

Prices going up when demand goes up is price gouging and not Microeconomics 101?
Don't like it? Don't buy it.

Our just completed holidays to BC, Golden and Revelstoke were at ~ $1.21 to $1.23 so way higher than Calgary. Kootenays were a little lower (around $1.13) but overall everywhere was higher than in Calgary. What was it in Kamloops?

Has anyone found gas consumption by week to see how long weekend demand differs from adjacent weekend demand? I looked for it but could only find monthly consumption and production chart.
The underpinning of the entire false naritive that gas is more likely to increase on a long weekend is based on demand being higher. I would agree it is higher but is it actually significantly higher? You already have vacation driving season driving up consumption so is the extra driving on long weekends as opposed to regular weekends significant.
Fatalities go up so that suggests some increases in km driven but I really want to know the extent.

Currently prices seem to be in the process of jumping from 92-93 to 108-109. If you need gas and pass a station still at 92-93...hit that up fast.

Considering we do not really export nor import our gasoline to/from the USA in Alberta, I'm surprised this is being used as a reason.

The overall supply of the product is reduced. There's not some invisible economic wall at the 49th parallel.

I blame stupid people that thought building the US's refining hub in a low lying swamp in known hurricane zone was a good idea.

Have diesel prices followed suit? They typically don't swing as quickly or wildly as gasoline in my experience and I am due to fill up before the weekend but the longer I can wait the better it will be for planning fuel stops.
