I really do love Jenna Ortega's work and am a sucker for anyone that stars in A24 films and felt she did a solid job in X.

But I don't know if i'm going to continue this show 2 episodes in.. I definitely do understand why it's breaking records and an absolute hit with other age groups however.
We just finished it and really liked it.

I don't think I ever matured past 13 so maybe that's why I like these shows.

Lol I'm 33 and I loved Wednesday. Thought they hit all the right notes with the tone and pace of the show.

That scene where she plays 'Paint it Black' on the Cello?

Also, the episode that ended with Nothing Else Matters by Metallica on Cello was just incredible to listen to and watch.

I think my favorite is the dance scene, so self-assuredly awkward.

Good. She absolutely killed that role! She was so, so good at it.

That is actually somewhat realistic looking cello playing. Huh.

I really enjoyed Wednesday.

My only complaint was that the younger versions of Morticia and Gomez seemed very different than the adult versions when it came to energy, emotions, and their overall expressiveness. From what I remember of the 90s movies the adult versions matched up pretty well as they seemed similarly detached I guess? But the younger versions didn't seem to match too well. Maybe they're supposed to have mellowed out as adults, but they seemed like polar opposite performances so I found it a little jarring during the flashback scenes.

Pinocchio by Guillermo del Toro is stunning. A really beautiful movie. I didn't expect the story to go the route it did but probably should have based on his past movies.

I think it's going to be an instant classic for many people.

Yeah Pinocchio is one I'm waiting until I move my big TV downstairs to watch, not sure I can hold off that long though, looks so good.

Also for Wednesday it doesn't hurt that Ortega is teeny tiny, helps make her even more adorable.

Which made the scenes where she's speaking with Gwendoline Christie even better.

One is tiny and the other is a giant.

Lol yeah.. I mean look at this, and I think Ortega is wearing like 4" tall shoes too. Christie could probably just pick her up and put her in her purse.

If you enjoy stop motion as much as I do, you'll like this comparison between the shooting and the final scene.

Plus, she makes Christina Ricci look normal sized which is quite a feat.

So 1899 not being brought back for another season. Well that was a waste of time.

I loved Dark so it was on my list to watch. I'm guessing it's pointless to even start it now as they didn't finish the story?
