Watched a psychological horror movie on Prime called "Don't Blink" about people who go to a wilderness resort and everyone's disappeared.
It's a who's who of former co-stars like Brian Austin Green, Mena Suvari, and Zack Ward, with a very brief appearance by Robert Picardo, but it was certainly better than it sounds. Glad I gave it a chance.

I love all of Neil Breen's crazy indie movies unconditionally and I was super excited to hear he was putting together a five-hour movie delving into the production of all his movies... but he's charging $250 for it. Which is honestly crazier than his movies were already.

Okay, #### it, I'm gone on full-on quarantine brain.
After listening to "How Did This Get Made" I decided to go back and watch some of the Fast and the Furious movies. Based on the discussion in the podcast, I started with Fast 5.
Holy ####.
Seriously, I'm not even a big action movie fan at this stage in my life, but this movie change my opinion pretty quick. It's big, it's stupid, it's nonsensical, and it's amazing. I almost can't believe this movie actually happened. It seems impossible to do the things they did in the environment they did it, but yet, here it is.
Listen, we all could use a little escapism right now. I can think of nothing better than this movie.
Follow this one with Fast 6, 7, 8 and whatever hell else this franchise has produced (Hobbes and Shaw). You can thank me later.

How would anyone be able to sit through 5 hours of Neil Breen?

In December I challenged CP to tell me which one of four movies to watch and in return I was challenged to watch all 4. Well it took me long enough but I'm finally done! I am glad I watched all four because they were all enjoyable films showcasing the best of modern cinema. Here are my reviews. It's nice to do a block of reviews that aren't 50% crap for a change.
The Big Short: One of the best paced movies ever. The writing is top notch making a depressing and confusing subject funny and interesting. There was a lot of narration and explaining and I still don't fully understand what went on, but it was mostly kept fresh with witty dialog and 4th wall breaking. I also loved the acting of Bale and Carell. 9.5/10
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy: The one starts slow and takes time to build. I was a little bored initially with all the quiet conversations but as the story unfolds and the tension grows I found myself on the edge of my seat. The ending is just amazing. Also, this might be my favourite Gary Oldman performance. He is perfectly cast and commands every scene like a boss. 9/10
Birdman: This was the strangest and most artistic of the films. If you are the kind of person who likes their endings unambiguous and their side plots resolved this is not for you. I really liked how this was filmed making it feel like we are both behind the scenes of a play and inside the minds of the characters. Keaton is a standout but all the acting is brilliant. Also that one part which parodies modern comic book hero movies might be the best single scene of the decade. 9/10
The Revenant: This was the hardest one to motivate myself to watch as I knew it was lengthy and grueling. Not sure what I was waiting for though as it turned out I saved the best for last. Maybe I'm just feeling homesick for Alberta but god damn was the cinematography incredible. The backdrop of every scene just popped and you felt immersed in this environment. I also enjoyed the epic but simple story set against this backdrop which relied on minimal dialog without excessive exposition. I could nit pick a few things on run length, historical accuracy, and CGI but I'm going to give this a perfect score. It was one of the most enjoyable film experiences I've had in a while. 10/10
A couple other observations:
-Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu is becoming a favourite director. He is excellent at capturing emotion and making you feel the perspective of the characters.
-God damn Tom Hardy is good at acting. Two standout supporting performances in two completely different roles.

Are you Brendan Fraser in 'Blast From the Past?'
I know Florida is a hell of a Drug, but being months late on Tiger King and now a solid 19 Years late on Fast & Furious....
Did you just step out of Time Capsule or isolated Armageddon Bomb Shelter?
