Poor Argentine kid. At least you get to go home with your dad after the game.

The way they just gave up on the last goal was so pathetic.
They're all waving at the linesman for offside despite there being at least two players behind the ball.

Even then, who cares, its 2-0 with a few minutes left. Lose 2-0 or 3-0 wheres the fire? Wheres the intensity? Defend the damned play until the whistle blows!

Today was an alright day of games - would have been better if Argentina showed any heart at all (I don't think Messi broke a sweat) - but on to tomorrow.

6:00 AM MT: Brazil - Costa Rica
9:00 AM MT: Nigeria - Iceland
12:00 AM MT: Serbia - Switzerland

Let's go Costa Rica, Iceland, and Switzerland.

So if Iceland can beat Nigeria tomorrow than them and Iceland should take a dive in the next game to get rid of Argentina. Serves them right for all those debt defaults.

I would like to see Nigeria win tomorrow so that the winner of Nigeria v Argentina moves on. That would make for the most exciting match.

what an awesome game! Was at a public viewing today with a ton of Croatian fans, that was awesome. Personally don't like the Argentinian team at all, so if they crash out, I'll honestly be delighted. Don't think Sampaoli has done a good job at all and Croatia certainly deserved this one.

And as a football fan, I just can't get enough of Luka Modric ... such a joy to watch. To me, he's head and shoulders above every other midfielder on this planet.

Argentina is just a very poorly constructed team. On top of that the team manager looks completely out of control and incompetent. They will not advance, regardless of the mathematical possibilities. You could see when they came out in the second half that Croatia was taking control, The Argentinians came out so passive.

Kudos to the Croatian team for really taking control of the game at that point, they are a very physical fit, good team, and apparently well managed. Modric looks like a Messi light out there, very impressive. I do not watch the Spanish league but i remember him playing for Spurs.

Agree about Modric. Easily a top 5 central midfielder in the world right now and probably the best. The only guys close right now IMO are KDB, Isco, Kroos, & Kante (Casemiro, Eriksen, Pogba, Rakitic get honorable mention, Iniesta is still great but a little long in the tooth now).

Honestly that is why I feel like Croatia has a chance to win it all - teams with the best midfields tend to do well in these tournaments and they are one of best right now.

It's hard to describe the feeling you get when Croatia scores and wins. I guess these days, even 25 years after the war and France 98, we still feel the need to fight for recognition and prove ourselves. I think Argentina started to play dirty in the last 25 minutes of today's match, but we are elated today.

These fellas had put together an awesome song (as they do for all tournaments) that brings the point home. The feeling is well...

Seriously, the fact they were using Mascherano and Mercado just shows how weak that defense and midfield is. Also, how in the hell was Dybala or Di Maria not starting. Some very dark years ahead for Argentinian football if they don’t somehow pull off a miracle.

Brazil need to figure it out pretty quick. Paulinho is useless but yet still plays for some reason.

Costa Rica looking good this morning. Brazil with most of the play, but looking a bit aimless.
