I wonder if he always aspired to become a garbage man as a kid.

How'd he even hit the net without Johnny feeding him the puck?

Kind of relevant, I think, but I was at my brother's place the other day and he only had NHL '11 for the PS3, and these were the Flames' lines:
Tanguay - Jokinen - Iginla
Bourque - Stajan - Langkow
Glencross - Moss - Hagman
Jackman - Stone - Ivanans
Regehr - White
Bouwmeester - Staios
Giordano - Sarich
Kiprusoff
Like holy crap, how did we even watch that team play?? I think the only reason that team won games was because of Iggy & Kipper. I think we've come a long way and we're lucky to have the team we have right now, with studs like Monny, Johnny, our defensive depth, backed by a pretty damn good GM in Tre.

He's a beneficiary and not a benefactor. Again, nothing wrong with that, but elite centers need to be the latter.

Just because those guys suck now doesn't mean they were horrible then.
Tanguay had 69 points in 10-11 with great chemistry with Iggy.
Bourque was 27 goal, 50 point forward.
Jokinen had 54 points.
Glencross had 24 goals and 43 points.
Morrison with 43 points.
Giordano was just rounding into good dman with 43 points.
Regher was still good.
It wasn't a great team but still serviceable and they underachieved. If guys like Backlund/Frolik/Jagr/Brouwer/Bennett/Tkachuk etc get 40+ or 50+ points this season we'd be calling it a successful year for them. 6 forwards had 40+ point season that year.

monahan's wingers are beneficaries of his uncanny ability to get open... to get quick, and accurate shots.. off quickly...
is he "elite"..? I dont know.. but hes 100% a number one center.. something some debate.. against.

There are only 2 or 3 elite centers in the league.
Not every team has one, and you don't always need one to win a Stanley Cup.
Monahan isn't elite, and that is fine. He is a hell of a good 1C though and he's criminally underrated by CPers like you for not being Crosby.

Otherwise he's just not good enough.
Ok.

No, I think Monahan is a legit #1C. He's a little one-dimensional, but that's not a bad thing. Especially when he's pretty good at it.
