My daughter watches the most Disney+ in the family, would it be wrong to make her chip in some allowance money towards the subscription?
I am also thinking of a PPV option with prices dependent on how much I like the show. Sure you can watch Lion King for 50 cents but if you want to watch the sequel it’s $10.

You can do the yearly thing for Crave and it’s add on packs, but I haven’t seen it on Netflix though.

I cancelled right after I watched Season 2 Episode 8 of The Mandalorian, but with all this new content coming I decided to pull the trigger on a year subscription, 2 days before the price increase. Does that mean I get the better rate until renewal in Feb 2022?

If you switch today, you will pay $89.99 for a full year and won't have to pay an increase until you're up for renewal next February.
If you don't switch today and continue paying every month, you'll continue with the $8.99/month fee until your first payment after August 23. Then, your price will increase by $3/month to $11.99. Also, I assume if you cancel for a time and then renew prior to August, you would pay the higher price immediately.
If you're planning on staying subscribed for the full year anyway, then yes, you should lock in for a year now. If your plan is to subscribe for a month at a time and cancel for 2 or 3 months before subscribing for a month again, and repeat that cycle indefinitely, staying on month-to-month might still be cheaper.
Essentially, if you think you'll be subscribed for at least 8 of the next 12 months anyway, you should switch to the annual plan today. If you plan to subscribe for less than 6 of the next 12 months, staying on month to month may still be cheaper.

We’re thinking about cutting the cord with cable, using free sources for news, finding a sports subscription, and alternating between streaming services (in addition to Netflix) depending what we’re binging at the time - currently Disney+. There are also free sources like Kanopy.
Anyone else doing this, how is it working out? Is Telus going to gouge me on internet now?

Not sure why they changed the title of Encino Man to California Man...

Are you using a VPN posing as somewhere in Europe?
I'm not seeing Star yet on my Disney+ and I believe Encino Man was called California Man in Europe because they didn't think enough Europeans would know what the hell Encino was.

Seems like things are being added one at a time. I see Alien vs Predator, but none of the other Aliens movies. It's also weird that the new stuff is just being added to the existing categories, I thought they'd have a special Star section for this stuff, especially the R rated movies

No VPN. I logged in and saw My Name is Earl. Tried it and it worked. It's not listed as Star content yet, but most of it is there.
I'm guessing they are integrating all the content across regions and I will have the rightfully named Encino Man soon.

My TV asked me to accept an update to the ap when I logged in tonight.
It also had be put in my password again to unlock Star, assign which profiles were authorized for MA content, and suggested I put a PIN on those profiles.
