De Minaur vs. Shapo is going to be a heck of a match, let's go Denis!

Denis plays a whale of a return game and earns a break serving at 3-1 in the opening set.
Edit: Had to work hard for the consolidation, but mission accomplished.

Wow, some fine tennis from Shapo as he takes the first set 6-3. He's pushing De Minaur all over the court thus far in this match.

If you play Serbia next do you put out Schnur against Djoker and just give them that point to save Vasek for doubles?

They mentioned on the broadcast that Schnur tweaked his back in practice a couple of days ago thus he might be resigned as cheerleader for Team Canada.

The other thing to keep in mind is if Canada wins (and Shapo was just broken), they will enjoy a day off tomorrow.

Uh oh, unforced errors are creeping into Shapo's game all of a sudden.

That was a big hold of serve by Denis, he's only down one break in this second set, just needs to reign in the ground strokes.

Well, important for Shapo to hold serve in this next game, even if he loses this set, force De Minaur to serve out set 2 in order to start the third set serving.

A scrappy service game for Shapo, but he does get the hold and we're on serve with De Minaur serving at 2-3. Denis is hanging in there, but he's on a fine edge.

Denis staves off four break points (down love-40) to hold serve - Big boy tennis from Shapo.

To prove my jinx powers. Turned it on at 4-4. Watched Shapo fall behind 0-40. Turned off. Turned it back on to see same game A-40. And he shanks an easy ground stroke.
I will not turn on again. Somebody keep me updated though please!

Gulp, Denis couldn't repeat the previous game from love-40 down and double-faults at 30-40, De Minaur serving for the match at 6-5

No doubles walkover today as it will decide who goes on to the semi-finals. The question is, who plays for Canada? I would roll out Vasek and Felix if I were Frank Dancevic.

Arash just said Canada is going with Shapospisil for the doubles. No Kyrgios for Australia in doubles.

Its Pospisil/Shapovalov in doubles against Peers/Thompson
Seeing Kyrgios telling De Minaur to relax and stay focused was something.

This is not going to be easy, Peers/Thompson are a formidable doubles team.
