It is Twitter speculation, I would not put any stock in that. She is just as likely to be from Mars. Unless it is coming from a credible source I wouldn't worry about Johnny having a girl from Philly.
She is from Philly. I'm pretty sure she has been living here with him for some, if not all of this season. Tre and co. met with her at one point, and they think she is good for Johnny, as he kind of needs a bit of a mother figure to help him out.
I have thought all year that this was a major reason for his poor play.

Not blaming. I guess I didn't say it correctly. Someone above mentioned his dad saying something along the lines of "he's sucked since he got his GF". I was at the Heritage Classic and saw his GF (same suite) and also heard about what I mentioned. I just think sometimes a major change in someones life can result in a change in another area. I think it is reasonable to believe Backlund's poor play at the start of the year may have had something to do with his new baby. Who knows for sure? I'm just completely speculating tbh.

Well there are more things to focus on than hockey in the winters for him now, and that probably has been a distraction, especially for a twenty something getting into a serious relationship. But just like Backlund with the newborn, he probably gets used to relationship life and the focus comes back to hockey when it needs to.
Or at least we can hope.

I speculate Backlund's improved play probably due to his baby girl started sleeping through the night.
