Default Cocktail Recipes

Chilcano de Pisco

Yield: 1 cocktail

Ingredients

2 ounces Peruvian Pisco
1 tablespoon fresh squeezed key lime juice
3 drops Bitters
4 ounces ginger ale

Fill a 10 ounce glass with ice cubes. Pour the pisco over the ice and add the lime juice. Splash in the bitters and then fill the remainder of the glass with with ginger ale.

Pisco is a spirit made from grapes and is popular in Chile. It tastes more like tequila than wine. I had this drink at Sabroso. A nice summer drink. I have seen Pisco at some local liquor stores.

Once had some Pisco from Chile, a student brought it up with him. Drank a bottle of it in the mountains and sang Dr. Hook, was a good night.

Old Fashioned

Ingredients:

2 ounces Makers Mark Bourbon
2 drops bitters
1 sugar cube
1 orange peel

Place sugar cube in cocktail glass, shake 2 drops bitters, 1 drop of water, muddle into syrup, stir and spread around the glass coating it. Add 2-3 large ice cubes. Add in 2 ounces Makers Mark. Fold the orange peel in half to express the oils, drop into the drink and stir.
